I'm not the right one to talk about absolute speed limit, but the bmt109s are plenty stable at the speeds I ski, and they want to go fast. They are the dampest, most stable 1700g ski I have ever been on.

Oh, I think that they are - all the various v werks skis (sans the discontinued bmt94 and 122) are at least still offered over here in Euroland. I think their pricing and limited number of units sold that made the US distributor discontinue selling them, not that Völkl stopped making them. Or it could be that the remaining stock is being sold over here - I do not really know.

Also, ON3P BG110 tour is also a similarly awesome soft snow ski.

Yep, I replaced my 109s with BG108t and think they're better in every way. IMHO.

But the 94s are keepers till death.

I snagged mf353’s 178 vwerks Mantras. I’m 5’10”, 185, tech bindings, 1100gr boots and will probably carry a fairly heavy pack at some time while using them. Any suggestions on mount point? I’ll look at specs but i seem to recall that they are a fairly traditional mount, and maybe i can move forward a bit.

you could realistically mount them a bit forward without running afoul of the sidecut, but you would also move closer to and generate more pressure on the flex zone in front of the bindings.

I've found that the flex point is noticable - not as in the current Atris where you feel like there are different hinge points or flex zones in the ski, but as in pressuring the front on harder snow can cause the front to lift. It is no biggie - especially in lighter soft snow, but I do prefer BMT90s slightly stiffer shovels, even if the MVWs' construction is even more potent overall.

so I would personally just mount them on the line - they ski very well there imho. The tails are super duper nice in soft snow imho. Man, now I've made me want another pair

IMO, the M6 is more on-piste oriented. Really fun and a bit more energetic than one might expect from a current Volkl. The updated M102 was made a bit more user friendly than the first version but is still a great all mountain ski. It has some of the on piste chops of the M6, but feels a bit more stable at speed (at least to me) and does a bit better in deeper, denser snow.

Actually, he's one of the instigators for my getting those M102's last fall. Which I got via a form deal from my bro mag.

I've been on both and prefer the 102 but really liked the 96. If el nono 23/24 is a weak season for us, I'd be down for the skinny skis.

I could prob have them boxed up and sent. I'll ask. We've discussed me getting all the skis flat. I only have so much room in the van.

Hmmm. You should PM a price on the two shortys in the middle.
a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

That is some quality hoarding right there! Do I spy two pairs of Katana's in a longish length still in plastic? IMO that last run of the mostly all green katana was one of the best looking skis ever.
