What has replaced Neoshell for sweathogs?

I love my Flylow labcoat w Neoshell, but it's time for something new. I love the air permeable Neoshell fabric for hard shells bc I sweat like a mule when skiing hard and regular goretex feels like a trash bag. I do need a hardshell though as this is for mostly inbounds with some hiking. It doesn't look like Neoshell is used much anymore, not sure why. What is similar to the Lab Coat as a non minimalist air perm hardshell?

I have the Flylow Cooper, which I believe has been replaced by the Kane. It breathes really well for a shell, but I have had some pilling on the jacket so durability may not be quite what you want.

Freeride Systems is mostly Neoshell - I don't own one (I'm being picky and the color I like is out of stock right now) but they were super helpful over email and I think they're mag owned as well.

I have a Marmot Rabu neoshell, more water resistant than soft shell & on the warmer side for touring, not a bad piece, I like it , but its 9 yrs old, not sure what happened to Neoshell

Gore-Tex strong-armed brands into dropping Polartec options is what happened. My Rab Neo Guide is still going strong.

Save yourself some money and get a First Ascent Sandstone Shield jacket. Neoshell like material on the shoulders, arms and chest, regular soft shell everywhere else. I’ve never gotten wet in mine unless is raining or really wet snow. Breathes incredibly well. Usually less than $200

Event breathes really well. Strafe has good options and features I like. I also picked up a westcomb skeena and an OR blended and mammut schooler combo with gore infinium.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

eVent and Pertex Quantum Shield easily outperformed goretex IME years ago, but nowadays I think there are several electrospun options with good air permeability. https://www.outdoorresearch.com/us/m...SABEgJ0J_D_BwE Is half price right now, limited colors. Pertex Shield Pro or Air are supposed to be good.

Gore products have disappointed me so many times with poor breathabiiity but maybe I need to check out Gore Active.

Patagonia stormstride breathes pretty well. Or if you can find their older Descensionist on wornwear, that also breathes very well. Never had a neoshell so can’t compare apples to apples.

If that is the seam welded patagucci it breathed pretty good more than Neo shell and i liked it

until the heat welded seams fell apart as in big enough hole to stick your head thru

maybe too much heat in the dryer ?

My wife had a Patagonia hardshell with welded seams that eventually fell apart at those seams. They wouldn’t warranty the piece and gave her like $20.

I just bought a replacement FA Sandstone Shield jacket for $149. My first one lasted 7 seasons before the zipper broke. This is a really great hybrid soft shell.
