did a little recon mission this weekend to christen the new boat - amazing temps, super bony water, and the pickiest trout I have ever seen all made for a great maiden voyage.

Check the weather station link. It’s more bueno.
Hot and dusty coming up for 10 days or more in forecast.
Or we could just go stay at the BYU Marriot and fish the Lower Provo all week. SFB and Roos could go to the Utah Lake boat harbor or the Provo storm drain outlet and target the white bass spawn, rate Utah Lake carp, and catfish! Fish tacos, no extra seasoning needed! That’ll keep your trout season at bay Roos.
My bow is pointed to Boblandia, however need be navigated. Rock Springs, Maybell ( stop and watch some Tucker Carlson with the boys at the store) or Clay Basin if it dries out.
Just FYI, the campgrounds, Bridge Hollow is gravel. Indian Crossing is paved. With the forecast, I’d think Bobs will be dried out with the forecast, but um, yeah. Sarcasm alert to all for above comments if not obviously evident.

Fuck man, some Mormon Ditch taco sounds pretty fucking good right now!!!.
I’m game for whatever location wise, as long as my rig can make it in. Was looking forward to checking out the boblandia scene but severely rutted or mudded out road is probably a no go for me. I’m in a rwd van pulling a boat. I can always set up shop in one of the upper campgrounds.
But Sfb makes a good point about the shuttle situation, that B shuttle sucks. In my opinion, it’s worth it only if red creek is clear. You guys think there’s any chance it clears in the next week? I’d also think about bringing rubber instead of the drift if we’re running low water Bs
Who’s hanging around for the weekend? I optimistic about getting out there Thursday but still could end up being just a weekend trip.
This is all new ground in the 4/20 festivities. 191 from Wyoming still isn't open, in talking with my neighbor, 430 out of Rock Springs is another option from the North. It's paved to the Colorado border and then well maintained after that. It ends up at the road from Maybell around Vermillion Falls. It's about 30 minutes longer than going down 191.
My neighbor and a couple other people went to Jesse Ewing hill yesterday and shoveled off some of the ruts and all the standing water. He claims I'd now be able to get up it with a boat in tow. He's going to take another look at it this evening and send me some pics.
The C portion of the river is fucked, brown chocolate milk and looks to be that way for a while. The A section looks to be the only fishable water this year. I'm headed to Boblandia this Friday, still up in the air which way I go. I figure I'll get over there this weekend and take stock of our options.
I looked at the campsites at Dripping Springs, pretty much the entire campground is open and available. If we're going to be floating A section laps it might not be a bad option. I'm going to bring all my tent camping supplies with me.
Who knew that record breaking snowfall could affect our fishing? Heh.
Circling back to sfb’s fontenelle idea. I think that’s worth a consideration if those roads dry up.
Would be new water for me but both the tail water and a longer float through Seedskadee have been on my radar for a while. And good fishing at camp is always a plus.
Not sure how much snow that area got out of this last one. Casper mountains got 3-4 feet, so reef, mile, and all the dirt roads are going to be in rough shape for a few weeks. Im bailing on that zone and heading to thermopolis this weekend.
I'd be stoked to 420 at Fonts as well. There looks to be about a foot or so on the ground between kemmerer, seedskadee and La barge webcams. That should be gone soon but incoming weatherz may screw it again.
That Minnie's gap has been closed on and off all spring. Sometimes just the northern half is open.
Boblandia in the mud with weak fishing sounds marginal...
Should we push this back a month?
sorry I could have updated the group with that beta, we drove all up and down it looking for a put in point and we were completely skunked.
my guess is the A is going to be the only floatable and fishable section on the green, but I'd love to be wrong about that

I don't think we'll have the turn out I was anticipating a month ago. It looks like Dripping Springs is our only option. There are some of us that are coming regardless of conditions, but it looks as if conditions aren't going to be ideal.
I'm heading out there tomorrow with my two boys. We're going to float the chocolate C on Saturday as a shake down cruise for the new boat. My oldest has never rowed a boat before, I'm going to teach him on the chocolate water of less consequence. My boys are going home on Sunday afternoon, Lumpy is coming out that evening. Lumpy and I will probably screw around the first couple days and then make our way over to Dripping Springs on Wednesday.
Roos and crew are supposed to roll in on Thursday. The plan is to float the A section. I've been hearing even the A is getting a little colored from small streams running into it.
I just got word from my neighbor that Jesse Ewing hill looks pretty good, there is a possibility the county runs a grader down it today.
Tight lines!
The A could use a tad bit of color for streamer fishing.
Team Musky is cruzin across North Dakota enroute to Boblandia via the Jackson waxroom.

Well that whole area is foreign to me. I'm down to come as long as I can find a camp where I can comfortably get my camper in. If it is a mud hole or a foot of snow, I'd rather meet up later.
Just keep us posted on conditions.
I'll take off colored water all day...
You’ll have no problem at Dripping Springs. It’s just south of Dutch John a couple miles on the way to the Little Hole ( bottom of A Section) takeout. All paved. They have improved sites with pavilions there, but no trees as a fire blew through about 20 years ago.
I think we should try to coordinate if THAT is the spot for everyone to land at, do we need to get a group site, and see about when everyone (approx) is showing up.
Not soliciting business through casual internet associations
Sounds like the plan is set, Dripping Springs it is. Dripping Springs is on the road to Little Hole, convenient for running the only fishable water at this point. The roads to and from the campground and the put in and take out are all paved. The water is flowing at 800cfs which is pretty low, it’s going to be boney.
The campground has bathrooms and hopefully running water, it’s your typical forest service campground.
It’s not far from Dutch John which has a few convenience/fly shop/little bit of everything places. Lumpy and I are planning on whipping up enough elk burgers for everyone Thursday night, we’ll have a couple sides but feel free to bring something small to contribute. Friday night I’m cooking chicken fried rice. I’ve got three pounds of rice and enough ingredients for that much rice, it should be pretty tasty and I’ll have a lot of it. I wasn’t sure who would still be there Saturday night so y’all are on your own that night.
I have four tubes of cinnamon rolls and am going to make smashed cinnamon rolls one morning, I’ll have 32 rolls so plenty for everyone. Plan on bringing something easy or snacky to eat on the river for lunch. I did forget smores stuff, so if anyone wants to grab some campfire deserty type stuff that would be good.
We can’t control the weather so it’s gonna do what it does. The campsites have pavilions but bring some warm and weatherproof clothing, also a good idea for the river. Black nitrile gloves are encouraged. Camp chairs and a bundle of wood are good bring alongs.
Cannabis products either inhalant or consumable are also encouraged, it is 4/20 on the Green.
Sweet. Thanks for putting this together. Getting stoked.
Another dumb question - will I just need a WY license?
you need a ut license
if 191 is closed 530 green river through manilla or 414 thru mnt view will get ya there
sheldon and i probably come up weds or thurs
lemmee know how many boat spots we got and if i need to get the raft there too

COVID is keeping me more down than mud. Hard to take out the garbage/walk Hazel, so I don't think sleeping in a bag/or throwing a line is in the cards for me right now.
I'm sure that whatever you decide will be awesome. Look for to pics. of UT's version of Burning Man.
