    Help match foot to boot

I skied in a 26.5 for many years. Super comfort, but no performance. Had to crank the buckles to hold my foot.
Feet are low volume, low instep, big toes, longest toe. So the 25.5 would be perfect, if the big toes were 1/2” shorter.

Few years ago switched to 25.5, Mach 1 LV. With a patient fitter, it was great except for the big toes. Kept rubbing. 250 days on those boots tried dalbello krypton. Great foothold but still can’t get enough big toe space.
Yes, been punched but can’t do too much without interfering with binding.
How can I thin the intuition liner to give a few mm?
Any other ideas to make more room.
    Any other boots to try?
    Appreciate any input.
Battle lines being drawn, nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong, old people speaking their minds, getting so much resistance from behind.

Have you tried the toe caps with the liner molding? If have a AA foot and the hawx ultra line has been the best boots I've had. Been in langes and dalbello before that. They do run a shorter bsl than normal so something to consider. Don't feel much different length wise than the others tho.

Did the toe cap molding. Still need more room for the big toes.
Will check out the hawk. Thx

What work was done on the Dalbello & the Mach1?

I’ve got to have my heels blown out to get really seated in both, but then dialed. I’d also suggest you look at a Lange WC liner, they have a great thin neoprene toe box.

Show me a picture of your bare feet taken from the top (or do the Verifyt scan and link the data to me).

What binding are we talking about? You should be able to get an extra 5-6mm in big toe length with most bindings (some are better than others, it depends on the shape of the toepiece wings, and the fitter has to keep the punch high). Depending on heel/achilles shape, I've deepened heel pockets as well to get more overall interior length but that doesn't sound like your problem.

No company makes a shell with significantly more length just for the big toe. In terms of actual interior shell length for a given Mondopoint size, Atomic runs on the short side, Lange on the long side, Tecnica kind of in the middle. No one really makes a low instep boot anymore, Salomon and Lange figured out people don't buy a boot that crushes their instep in the shop, but the low volume models in their lineup may be good options.

Are you using a custom footbed to help support/shorten your foot?

    Surgically remove "big" toes.

Step 1: Find boot fitter and get recommendations.

    Step 2: Buy Boots.

Have you tried Salomons? They give most big toe space for my feet, some say they run large. In my opinion intuition liners are better at taking up volume than giving it.

Fulltilt (the original shells, the raichle molds) is kind of the classic low volume fit.

As for your current toe bang, a trick I’ve had success with is to pull the liner, put your foot in and feel where you’re tight, then cut yourself a little hole in the liner right where you need it. I’ve done that numerous times for minor tight spots. You can also try marking that spot and using a heat gun and pressure to push it super thin. It takes some confidence to start cutting and heating on your boots, but if they’re really not working out and you’re considering others, what do you have to lose?
