Just got back from watching the Freeride World Tour live, I couldn't see it from the truck stop, so I headed up for a lap of okay skiing in the sun. I even said hello to some local logging truck drivers up there too, they were enjoying the competition on their day off.

I am not against truckers, the legit, real Canadian "heroes" are using the truck stop here in Golden, right now, to take a piss, fuel up, eat and continue on their way being awesome Canadians. They may not agree with everything coming down the pipe, just like many of us, but they aren't being fucktards about it. We in Canada, have processes available if you feel your rights have been infringed upon. Trying to burn down an apartment building, jam 911 lines, block the border, shit on people's lawns, well snow piles I guess, and terrorize other Canadians definitely isn't it.

I don't take offence to your comments, your overall first impression of the highway service area is accurate. But I think most travellers rushing to get somewhere to fulfil their dreams are looking for efficiency, options and ease of use; it's Golden. We have an Merican' mill here too in Golden, that must count for something.

We are optimists here in Golden, we realize that we're just a shithole in many people's opinion. That is why it was given a name that will sound good if you come to visit or even just drive through.

Glad to see you have a sense of humor...I admit we did venture into "town" and found a Mexican Restaurant (Don't take it out of context...that was what the sign said)....but it looked scary...I mean like health dept scary. Saw nothing else so we scattered over the pass and ate in Banff (the tourons sure can party there). I did however pay my local toll and get myself a large 40+ ounce Dew for the drive at the Truck Stop on the Hwy.
