Welcome to the TGR Forums. These forums have been around for over a decade and, prior to that, many OG posters gathered on Powder Magazine forums. They've been built on stoke - principally Trip Reports and photos of ski, bike and other trips to awesome places. There's also injury rehab advice, unbiased local conditions reporting, and completely random conversations about everything from home brewing beer to politics and building your own back deck. Post stoke, or offer up some sweet deals on gear, and it will be smooth sailing.



And we must mention a few special circumstances:
-Accounts started for the purpose of posting predominantly in Political Asshattery will be banned. The PoliAss forum is for existing members to discuss politics, not for aliases/users to simply stir up shit and hide their identities while doing so.
-Any new account that looks to the mod team to be an alias with an axe to grind, or that is just an asshole, will be banned. This and other situations may be banned immediately, with none of the 'strikes' afforded other posters.

The covid/vaxx threads still exist. Those contain the most butthurt of all.

He was talking about the thread, not the man. People are misusing the word, "political," which refers to either a liberal or conservative ideology and instead think "political" means a subject that people, regardless of their political ideology, may disagree on.

TGR is split into two camps, those who want to discuss things like kittens, and pizza, and post "stoke," which is really just internet dick waving attracting people to the source of the stoke. The second camp being those who would like to discuss thought provoking, sometimes controversial topics that they might discuss with friends in a bar. The former camp wants to be surrounded by like minded people offering words of encouragement. It reminds me of a good snowboard joke, but I think it fits with TGR posters (the first camp) as well:

In 2009 when the thread was started, the only thing political about Rogan was him pushing for legalizing weed. It was a thread for humor and storytelling and psychedelic experiences.

We had a beautiful thing when this was a smaller, more irl-based group of real skiers.
I don’t know how we fix it except to just keep trying.
