Lots going on with this one: https://www.redfin.com/WA/Lyle/501-K.../home/68946102
Really inspired by the partially carpeted, tilting stair landing, rock out cropping, nightmare fridge, DIY wine cellar going on here.

water is the driving force of all nature
Whoever took those pictures did a great job, and I mean that with sincerity because they did heroic work to hide all the shit that's going on there.
MCM time capsule, built in 1962 after the Bel Air fire wiped this area out. $10 million is dirt value, it's going to get scraped.

Yeah, I got a pretty hard rule when working - never open a fridge or freezer.
Don't just flush it, make sure it starts to refill.
There’s a pot for every lid, or something something.

Wall up the wall carpeting. Works in vans, why not at home?
My poor dad hung miles of wallpaper at my mom's direction back in the 60's and 70's. Not long ago I told him it had come back into style and he couldn't fucking believe it.

Driven by this place tons of times and hate the outside. Looks like a pray away the gay summer camp. But the inside is a trip, as is the vault and garage.

^^^^ very nice. But man is that owner wood obsessed.
As well as being obsessed with garage doors.
That price seems low. I doubt you could build that today for that price.
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
Huh, we tried to buy this one in 2021 but got outbid. I don't remember what we offered, but apparently less than $772k, which was pretty crazy money for a Bellingham house with no insulation. Looks like the jerks that outspent us are eager enough to move on that they're willing to take a loss on the house. Maybe we dodged a bullet.

I never see why people want a washer and dryer in a kitchen. If you're going to position a W & D anywhere the best place is in a large closet in a master bedroom, lacking that then position in a hallway adjacent to a bedroom.
There's a current debate in the I Love my Wife thread about laundry chutes. Which misses the point of convenience, you want laundry appliances as close as possible to where you dress, undress and store your clothes.
“The best argument in favour of a 90% tax rate on the rich is a five-minute chat with the average rich person.”
- Winston Churchill, paraphrased.
I'll say laundry chutes are great because you should have the washing machine in the lowest part of the house. Even with drain pans, washing machines (and ice machines) are just waiting for their opportunity to ruin your house if they're located above living areas.
We had a laundry chute, seven kids and a mom who hated doing laundry. The chute was kind of like archaeology after a while.
