Wife’s old boss had a house right near that. Thought it was the one on the left but his had more of a mansion at the top of the rolling lawn to the ocean. Fucking gatsbyian.

And my neighbor is the listing agent on that apparently.

Of all multi million dollar wrecks here I see one interesting design detail. The exposed copper pipes for hot, cold and waste in the bath shower and sink in this image from 30 Cheval Cir, Bellevue, ID 83313.

Someone gets a small amount of extra credit in that the drain waste vent is designed to be part of the shower curtain frame. But the rest of the home is not pleasant to look at.

That's a shame, it looks like a great house. Also, does anyone else think it's a little short sighted to tear down a livable house in the midst of a housing affordability crisis?

biggest problem of most of these is they didn’t bother to hire a decent architect, they hired someone who’d check boxes for them. For the same ballpark as that greeenwood, mn atrocity you could get this ($10.5million)

This is actually a nice place, obviously way over the top but the people had some taste. It was on the cover of Architectural Digest and has something crazy like a mile of waterfront. The main part of the foundation is from WW2, it was the site of a coastal defense artillery battery. Spectacular site but way too visible for me or most folks, you can see the place from miles away from most directions. You have to have some ego to build your place on a site like that.

Don’t know proper name of the device but it’s used for pinpointing locations. A map goes inside the circle. Used by fire lookout stations in the days before satellite and aerial observation

Yes, late 60s probably Cosworth pre ground effects Indy car, like Graham Hill's 66 winner below. But, what's significant is the number one. Usually the previous year's USAC champion carried that number all year, so, this was driven by a winner, but I dont think it won Indy.
