Was that like 95ish? Was trying to remember when we met and I think it was at the old Aframe @ Soli so that places it in a certain time period. Or Mollys which is timeless.... When I was living in ASpen and storm chasing back to stay with the folks
Know you were around in the 90s and a full on BCC fixture by the time I came to work @ Soli in 04

Any y’all into some of the newer synthetics, like CB2?

April, 2 feet of hot pow, Darwin canyon, sunny day. Boomers. Traverse into Mendel bowl to take a look at the couloirs. Roller balls and pin balls everywhere. couloirs looked steep and boney. Multiple laps of hot pow face shots. Sunning like lizards on exposed boulders. Lots of laughs. Beautiful sunset. Massive sunburns the next day.

You mean 2C-B? It's not that new, Schulgin synthesized it in 1974. I'd love to try it, he considered it one of his greatest creations alongside 2C-E, 2C-T-2 and 2C-T-7. Sounds very similar to LSD with a dash of MDMA thrown in, and a more reasonable 6-8 hour duration. Never seen it around, but I'm not plugged into the cool kid scene.

After reading Carl Hart's book I'd also love to try 6-APB and hexedrone.

2C-B is awesome. Hard to find though.

Was hard to get back when I would have tried it but apparently it's pretty popular in the Toronto area lately.

Serious question to the old heavy acid users - are flashbacks really a thing?

Not for me, but I'm probably a low end consumer of 500x or so.

I guess the sudden and unexpected onslaught of impairment and or visuals similar to that of an lsd trip, years later.

    Great answer.

I find that once the door was unlocked, I can walk into that room and have a look around whenever I choose. Not flashbacks, but a way of perceiving clouds, sunlight, water, natural patterns, etc… with a meaningful, heartfelt connection.

It's complicated. Not flashbacks like I'm fucked up. But there's moments when I feel like I felt at moments then, that remind me of it and bring me back to a mindset, or maybe "place" is a better word, that came out of all that. They're just not frequent enough.

edit: I think singlecross and I are more or less on the same page here

You know when you’re out in the mountains the day after it has dumped, when the storm is breaking up, and the sun breaks out from behind a cloud. There are shafts of light appearing and the snow crystals are being carried through a light breeze, glistening and sparkling in the air. Then you take a deep breath and are in awe of how it’s all connected and you get to be there, a part of it all, and play in it.

    It’s like that but better.

Yeah, no instant color/spacial distortions well after the fact for me either. I’m like 1/5 of Buster’s experience

But I think that once you see something thru a psychedelic lens, it’s imprinted in your mind. You can mentally, maybe subconsciously, attach that lens when “set and setting” are right.

Most of my trips have been outdoors, so that’s where the lens seems to get attached. Particularly fishing on my local river - find myself staring at trees, water, bugs, yada^3 and pondering the interconnection of it all for very long periods. Then, flip switch and ‘Oh shit, its getting dark!’

Yes. That’s it. I’m clearly ignorant to it. My BM friends, apparently, have it to BM for the past handful of events. Apparently, because it’s easy to transport and disguise.

In one episode of Hamilton's they interview famed LSD chemist Darrell Lemaire, who was well into his 90s IIRC and pretty frail. They asked him if there was any drug he would want to do before he died and he replied that he could really go for some 2C-B.

    Once but under dubious circumstances

It was at one of those parties with guns, trucks, and more than one chainsaw started to keep the fire going. The band would jam all night if the generator didn't cut out. The light and the noise would attract all kinds of freaks from the hills, always out there with some reason for not wanting to be bothered. These events were choose your own adventure but not the place to leave a drink unattended or share something unknown.

The night in question I was strictly up. I had gone to the ridge for a smoke and halfway through had an intense visual experience. I felt like I was picked up and plopped back down in a new universe, it shook me hard. I had dosed about 4 months before and munched on stems and caps throughout the summer but was not into heavy psychedelics. It took a few moments to collect myself and then I walked back down to the party. No indication it was coming and nothing like it since.

I was tired from my first day working for the season and trying to “type” with my thumbs.

I’m happy to call them burners. They’re deep into it. Several have been full time employees for the org at some point in their life. One got to be in the cherrypicker thing for many years building/installing the top of the wooden dude. Some have had their artwork moved as permanent display at the SF Exploratorium.

Relevant to this thread, one friend was apparently the first drug (or maybe just mushrooms) arrest in NV related to the event. In 1995(?). He took the fall for the entire group in the RV, plead his case to the judge and got his wrists slapped. He invited me to attend that one, but I couldn’t afford the few hundred for the RV and tix. I think it was the burning man with the fatality when a tent got run over.
