Hi Cocximus. Good timing on the snow. Around Bend, there isn't much you can hit without a sled until the hwy is opened beyond Bachelor. But if you can truly bang-out 25 km + vertical ("easily?"), then that puts broken top in play for you, which some animals do in a day. In this cycle, you would likely shuffle 10k just to settle for a safe shoulder, however. If you aren't real savvy in bc travel and snow safety then for sure just go to the resort or enjoy one of our little bumps close by. Mt Hood and other points north have much better winter access if you want more variety.

Glad you hit tumalo yesterday. We probably passed one another. Great conditions for sure!

I was rockin' 110's yesterday and wishing a few times I was on something a tad bit wider. (Mostly on the flatish sections on the Outback side of the Butte) But saw lots of 105-106 size skis along with the wider powder boards.

I'll never complain about too much powder...but Bachelor is not steep and speed is tough to carry in some places for sure.

When Flachelor gets too much Snow. At least it was low moisture content. Thursday yep and Hoodoo Friday for a sleeper powday. Hasn't been open since Sunday.

The funny thing of it yesterday, is I didn't even consider the run out at the bottom of Boomerang when I dove in. Luckily there were 4-5 others not too far behind me, and we did the leapfrog thing towards the bottom and it ended up working out that no one got fully stopped, and we managed to make it to the bottom and continue on to NWX. But that's a small price to pay for knee deep powder at Flatchelor.
