Close to 1000ft of corn below with nobody around. Snow was good until just above the cat track.

Enjoyed a late afternoon cider on the deck.

Overall it was a great week: light crowds, fun spring skiing, chill vibe.

We called in 911 from the chair, then watched patrol bring him down. Doing chest compressions in the sled and then saw lifetflight leave empty.

    Fucking awful.

It was icy and narrow and fast out there. Sobering reminder that we are all one hooked edge away…

    So rent something short
No video yesterday, but we're also doing it today and tomorrow.

We got some of the basics of tandem skiing down, but John still has to call out the left/right/spin commands to me until we figure out a backpack speaker to do the moves to. Im thinking "I feel it coming" by The Wknd. Like the Superbowl last year, one of our first dates.

The red chair at skibowl after 7 pm has the best conditions for us to practice. We almost got the tandem quadruple left spin (!), but hung up our massive twin tips in the last 180 degrees and had to separate.

Today trying to clean up the tandem skiing for steeper slopes at Tline (ultimate goal is to be able to do like 100 spin moves from top of Palmer to bottom of Summit) and maybe try a couple of those figure 8 western swing moves at Skibowl. John is a very talented dancer, but I still have trouble fully giving my skis to him to lead.

No funny hat, but we've got some solid matching outfits, as usual - cheetah print underneath and candy blue top and bottom shells. Just like the French Olympic team!

We got a bud and bud lite from hoodlum mart (only $3.65 for 2 tall boys) and spun around for an hour hollering "Hell Yeah!" with those though. That's what Budman is probably up to today. John rode a chairlift with him at Copper Dewtour and was dazzled by his creativity and skill

It was damn firm Friday AM on Pine and Summit - except for the lanes of sugar scraped up by the side slippers.

Can only imagine how icy it was on the dark side yesterday and today

    Shred in peace

I wonder if it will impact Outback chair operations? Seems like there's always icy no fall sections with people skiing very fast.

^^^ Outback lift operations will be impacted by crappy maintenance, not the slick as glass runs

Curious, what is the deadliest ski resort in America? Like, who's had the most fatalities in the last decade?

Lots of fun to be had on the “firm” snow, but when you see patrol use drilled in boo to hold the sled while loading, it’s time to sharpen the edges and level up the the technique.

The chair was from Bachelors Yellow lift.
Budman was sacrificed to Ullr at a drunken bbq.

Since the wind has died down, sunlit aspects in the Skibowl Upperbowl are getting springlike. Calamity, Jane, Canyon are all nice.

Everything in the shaded steeps is still no fall, use extreme caution, firm and often shinny. Click image for larger version.

I bet! It was all day yesterday too.

Outback opened today. Great turns off the peak, absolute mank on the approach (West Boundry) to Red Label, Red Label and Black Label good, and Log Road was well the Log Road.
