Use and swear by this this stuff to wash all the various Merino and synthetics I own (have a lot of both for various reasons). But run on cold wash and soak the first few batches well and you never end up with getting synthetic up to operating temp stink that comes from your sweat germs taking root and never leaving...
Use same stuff on all our ski or other waterproof breathables as it doesn't clog the membranes up, works great on other puffies/down, etc....

Even 50/50 blends are stinky. Not as stinky but not great. Check out the stio baselayer - merino interior with a fleece exterior. Or go smartwool, mons royale (the best around), or something else all merino. Put the fleece on top of that.
