Oh wow! I actually didn’t see the tracks the first time around, just thought it was pondering. Yeah that’s legit.

Not claiming. Just noticing. Props to the sender. It means things are definitely full on. People hiked into the fingers from exo. For some reason so-called Palisades Tahoe Olympic Valley only ran lower mountain lifts today, even tho lines were ridik. They still don't have chairs on headwall so don't expect that tomorrow. Scratching my head a little... Some additional bombing in the afternoon. We were too late to get summit laps at "PTA" so feeling lucky to enjoy soft bumps and mop-up stashes during the day.

I’m sure they are dealing with staff shortages. It’s kinda funny the resort is now named after terrain that they don’t open on the weekends. Heh.

What time should I be hitting the 89 to hit minimal traffic on the weekends?

Sorry was vague. Heading up from Reno with the fam, haven’t had an Ikon for a few years so the only time I’ve driven south on the 89 on weekends was for dawn patrol on the west shore or deep creek. Not worried about first chair just wanting to hit it with minimal traffic.

I think Turx was calling out the "the", not the "89".

Nice that the crowds will get a sunny weekend before the next wave of storms hits (looks like around Tuesday, intensifying into Thursday). I think I'll do a mellow-angle tour tomorrow.

Resort arrival anytime after 8am on a busy weekend in LT puts you behind the curve.

Sadly, this is no longer a concept here in the Truckee area, especially on a holiday weekend right after a major dump.
Last night trying to get out of The Star was a 2+ hour gridlock.
I got off work at 4, wasn't able to leave until 6:15, and it still took me an hour to get home (normally a 20 minute drive).
That was Friday with people supposedly still working and kids in school.
Came home to 15 SUVs overflow parked in the STR next door.
Today through next week is more'n likely to clusterfuckery supreme, especially end of day..

On the bright note, the snow is skiing/riding great.

Braved the traffic and went early to Palisades today. I was annoyed where we were in line for Wa She Shu and then about 30 minutes went by and I turned around only to see it insanely long. Photo below. I was pleasantly surprised after finally get up the mountain because I thought it would be a shit show. My older son and I hit a lot stashes before the masses got up the mountain (which was around run 5). We were able to do 9 runs and then got hungry and bailed early. KT was spinning - I saw what looked like a lift op going up (not ski patrol) so maybe they are getting it ready for tomorrow. 60mph winds coming so it would be nice to add KT to the schedule. Snow today cold and felt great.

Wow lots of awesome stoke and pictures! No action shots from me but after several sunrise bowl laps I pulled this guy out and laughed my ass off going down 15° slopes
