The little bit of skunk due to UV exposure is what puts it in a class of its own. The Champagne moniker isn't an easy level to achieve without some special "brewing".

I was pretty happy when I found Molson Export Ale is sold in brown bottles in Canada. It was my go-to in HS and it was in a green bottle, so there was the occasional skunky disaster.

Just back from the local Town Pump, large gas and convenience (Beer) chain. There had a noticeable shortage of beers and almost no Coors of any color. They did have PBR 16 oz 6 packs for a nice price.

The sacrilege is Miller uses chemically treated hops to improve flavor stability in clear bottles. I used to work at a place that treated hops for Miller and won't drink their beer no matter how much it tastes like champagne.

My buddy’s dad exclusively drank MGD bottles.....he would sprinkle salt into it/onto the rim of bottle...as he slugged em down. (We kind of thought it was an odd habit, so we all tried it....wasn’t too bad...)

Ha! The only domestic beer my Dad would drink was MGD. Didn’t try this trick but as a Bud Heavy fan in undergrad I’d routinely reach into his domestic stash in his bar when home for a visit. Not a bad beer actually. Never see it anymore.

I have so many questions about everyone's choices in pop after the last page and a half.

Mr. Pibb: not cola, not root beer, not an option so long as the Dr. is around. And I'm a Coke guy too (ok, mini glass bottles at Christmastime cause they're awesome and it's a total nostalgia trip).

Caffiene-free Diet Dr. Pepper? Personally that doesn't compute for me. My mom lived on a steady uppers and downers diet of DDP (that's Diet Dr. Pepper to the layperson) and Chardonnay to get herself through the holiday chaos of entertaining nonstop growing up. I'm not so sure what a non-caffeinated version would do for anyone.

Orange soda, specifically Crush, should be consumed only in tall glass bottles sold from an old timey roadside market somewhere in the country, preferably by a lake or the mountains. Diet orange soda? WTF?

And while we're on the topic, this is still the best anyone has ever worn an "I'm a Pepper" t-shirt.

Crush - whether Orange, Cherry or Grape is best consumed out of a legit 70s era Crush vending machine at the local Putt Putt.

I can still remember the anticipation of an ice cold Cherry Crush when Digging in your pocket for change on an eighty degree day after pedaling your Schwinn Scrambler to the Putt Putt with the crew. You dropped your coins in and the door unlocked! Now the moment of truth...you wanted Cherry, but the standby refreshing Orange Crush is but a pull away...or is it the kind of day you say fuck it all and go for the Grape Crush because its July and you are the king of your 12 year old upstate world.
