The soft tip and tail work to provide suspension but underfoot the ski can hang with a charging skier who is very balanced. They’re my new favorite spring ski. My previous favorite was the head monster 103. Basically the complete opposite style of ski.
In that sense do you recommend upsizing? It’s kinda weird because I wanna try them but fall in the middle length wise

I ski 183 katanas, 177 Volkl m102s, 186 RPCs. Got the reckoner 102 in a 170 because it was cheap as fuck and K2s are long relative to stated length, and shockingly haven’t had regrets, but also don’t ski them in deep conditions. Agree that they’re mega fun in spring conditions.

I find sweet spot big personally - I do feel like I have issues being too forward now and then and have to pay attention to that, but haven’t had issues rearward thanks to the progressive mount I guess. I’m 100% sure I’d love the 177 equally or more but have never once regretted being on the 170, even if looks absurdly short.

Went 177 on the 112 for float.

Ended up mounting these inbetween the team & midsole lines. Absolutely love this ski and very happy with the mount. They rip top to bottom and want to play with every little hit along the way. Slashed a pow knob so good, haven't been able to replicate that feeling since the original Mr Pollard Opus' (hard to describe but it was one of those turns that felt so special you never forget it) and that's worth the price of admission alone. From the second I clicked in there was instant dejavu of the OG Hellbents.

Think I'll grab another pair in 191s and mount on the team line and likely ski both. Super stoked on these!

Exactly my experience. I bought the 102 in a 177 and tried to sell after hand flexing - felt too soft. No takers so mounted up at -6 (about same as my old Kung Fujas), and went for a rip. Blown away by the grip right under foot, and the pop of the carbon. But looking for a little more tail support and float so bought 184's and mounted at -6 again. Perfect. Took out on local race hill (firm morning groomer) and dragging knuckles then to the pow-corn bowls then to bumps. If in doubt, size up - better suspension.

if the OG bentchetler 120 is my favourite ski of all time which Reckoner will i jive with best? 112?122?

i don't really need the maximum width for the kind of floatation i usually require so i'm kinda eyeing up the 112.

the 112 a way stiffer flex profile than the bents.

Probably more closely related to the 122, but I'd also look at the revolt 121

Love the 191cm 122s, if anything the tail could be a tad bit stiffer. Unsinkable by a margin on team line so could be mounted further forward for more support.

A shame the 102 tops at 184cm, K2 please make a longer size!

Yeah, I’ll be trying as hard as I can this spring to break one of my 184s (have back up pair) and get a warranty for the 191. That said I fucking love the 184 102. So good, so easy.

How much do you weigh? I looked up the 2025 R102 and it's apparently becoming softer than the current version.

This around 100mm twintip ski isn't easy to find in a longer size which isn't a complete noodle. Have been eyeing the Revolt 104 and the Mana 2 (102mm) which both come in a 188. Own the Mana 3 already so kind of a boring choice maybe.

The On3ps and Moments aren't available to us in Euroland sadly.

The more I ski my 112s the more I like them.

I still think that on a deep day I'd prefer to be 1cm back of the midsole line, but I am learning to appreciate the tail on these things in a lot of situations.

Yeah same. Didn’t go back on mount, did go back on stance and it does work. They’ve just about become my DD. Skiing them in pow vs. not means adjusting stance. No big deal once you get used to it. So fun.

I love reading this. I had the same feeling on Shreditor 112s. I hope next years 110 or KF gives me this feel.

The more I read about Reckoner KFs, the more I want them. Read something from a K2 Hellbent lover saying they feel like the older K2s.

Might have to grab these before I can demo or anything like that, been looking for a Shreditor 112 replacement for almost a decade.

better late than never but the 112 is so much more useful and fun plus has the suspension that I felt the 122 lacked.

If anybody has a pair of 184 112s I'm in the market, with or without clamps.
