What ages are you looking for gear?

We have a lot of friends going through similar dynamics, some better than others. Sounds like you're in a good headspace for that piece.

    Good luck.
12, but pretty much full grown human at this point. 24.5 boots, 150-160cm skis. I’m assuming her bones are about done growing and buying equipment that should work for a few years, but I’ll undoubtedly be wrong and send this stuff to gear swap.
    focus.

Hopped in the car and gave them an hour or so heads up to which they replied, sorry were full, drive someplace fast, good luck! The other hospital in town had one labor room available when we called. Otherwise we would have headed toward Pocatello and kept on trucking to Utah if they were full.
Wow, that's pretty intense. I just assumed they would be able to deliver us in the facility that our provider uses, the same hospital my wife works at.... we'll see. I guess worse case scenario we could drive to a bigger market.

Kinda funny- he had his first stomach bug late last week and was puking and diarrhea... but he was oddly in a pretty darn good mood through it all and was eating and drinking like a growing champ. But when he would puke while being held, it would be a lot and would splash everywhere... every damn time he would puke and then burst into laughter and giggles at the noise and mess he created. And then 30seconds later would use his sign language to indicate he was hungry and wanted to eat again haha. Puke and Rally!!!
If he’s puking, he should be eating very small amounts of food. Gotta let the stomach rest or he’ll just keep puking.

It’s pretty normal for a kid to not eat a regular diet again for a week or so after being sick.

Looking good, snapt. Super stoked for you. Merry Christmas.

By the way, the next six months are the easiest part of parenting. All you do is hold them. Once they start crawling, it’s go time.

Now go pamper your wife. She deserves it.

    I gotta agree.

I can see how you think it’s funny because it is, but you should certainly take some precautions.

BART diet. Bananas, apples, rice, and toast. In small quantities until he’s holding it down.

Congratulations snapt, to you and your wife. I hope you both enjoy every moment. Remind yourself daily that your wife is pulling most of the weight right now.

I am largely regret free so far but I wish I taken a video of my son’s startle reflex, in the first week while he was still a bird. It is humbling to have the implicit trust of such a fragile human.

Hope you guys are enjoying your kid(s) today, I know I am. We're learning how to ski the junk together - we're not very stylish skiers, but it keeps us away from the holiday crowds.

Not completely in disagreement, cause as soon as they get mobile they start looking for adventure, and all that entails, but I found it hardest once ours wanted to dictate the speed of travel. This was about age 4. Up until then first the ergo carrier and then the chariot was fine for most of our cardio pursuits with her happy playing the royalty in transit card. After that, we could only move as fast as she could go under her own power. Which meant stopping for some sort of engagement, or examination of the moment. Journey and not the destination kind of deal.

Still working on the ‘effort is the reward’ part at 10yrs. We were going pretty good with the XC until last winter when the local t-bar had a good year and she really improved her downhill game. Now XC is a trial unworthy of her time - LOL. XC MTB is our new balance. Loving every moment!

Tell me about it. It’s my daughter’s 11th bday today. I have no idea how we got here so fast. She’s killing it in school and is a very balanced kid with sports and musical interests. I’m savoring the days we ski, climb, bike and hike together more than ever. I look at pics of us hiking with her in a baby backpack or skiing a green holding her up and it feels so recent.

yep, we are. Just making light of the situation. The cold he gave me promptly turned into a sinus infection. It resulted in me trying to change his blownout diaper and destroyed onesie, coughing up some mucusy phlegm, gagging and then puking into his dirty diaper pail. And then his stomach bug got me too a day later. fun times.

Little guy is back to normal now. i had cut some porkchops off the bone for dinner last night and while i was washing dishes he decided to poach one the bones off the counter and proceeded to clean the thing of all remaining flesh while walking around the house babbling and eating.

SkiLyft, where’d you find that helmet? Looking to outfit our 6month old for the year while he rides in the backpack and bjorn but have only found helmets marketed towards kids. Click image for larger version.

Last year was the first season where all three of my kids could manage the mountain unassisted.

I spent the season just following them around. Came home one day after a powder day. Wife asked how the day was. “I think it was the best ski day of my life.”

You spend years helping the little ones find their feet. It’s often exhausting. And then that one day comes and you’re like— “Oh, so this is why I ski.”

We waited to get the boys helmets until last year when they were 2 and they'd fit decently: Smith Glide Jr XS (looks the same as SkiLyft) which is about the same size as the Giro options and smaller than POCito. Giro bike helmets (Spur) do go smaller if you want something with a better fit, but we just had them in hats in the backpack from 3mo - 2yrs.

Still rocking them through this season and maybe through next
