Got the Fischers, tried them, found the instep volume especially to be heinously large, sent them back. Waiting for the others.

Dynafit Ridge confirmed Feb release per their Instagram today.
For Sale:
If you're in the Northeast and would like to borrow some Jigarex Plates I have:
Rossi/Look plates
Salomon Warden 13 plates
Marker Kingpin Plates
Found the xtd carbons in our local sporting goods store in 27.5, bought them right there.
Holy shit, nice fit! No doubt the liners will pack out a bit, but the shell fit was 15mm and I got no immediate hot spots. Not waiting to try the hoji frees and 26.5 XTDs, will just send them back. Super stoked right now.

More anatomical would be one way to put it. I could stand on my toes in fully clamped transalps, no way in hell I'll be able to do that in the XTDs. Otherwise, flex seems extremely similar, as does the perceived weight. I doubt anyone, aside from the differences in fit, would find one boot more responsive than the other.
The heel cup is snugger, but not by a huge margin. Definitely better. FWIW, my feet feel the snuggest in a raptor wcr140/zipfit corsa combo at 26.5. These are one size up and feel it, but I'm not going for a superformance fit either.

debated if this is a 1kg or 1300g boot thread. but it’s a “which boot?” question…
I’ve been in a TLT6p with MV pro-tour liner for 6 seasons. TLT6 fit (297bsl) is perfect with minimal work and pro tour liner. 1 finger shell fit, and a few small punches (primarily length) that have probably disappeared by now. Full day comfort. Have been avoiding the new boot thread for as long as possible…
I currently pair the TLTs with my daily uphill setup (184 raven with race bindings) and spring ski (178 zero g), but have also found these sufficient to drive lightweight 110-120 big skis in favorable (hero) conditions. I ski with the black tongues for everything other than fitness meadow skipping. No straps. Have replaced the cuff pivots with B&D hardware to remove any slop. I’m very light on my gear and boots are in surprisingly good shape, but the liners are toast, my skiing is getting worse each season, and the setup is starting to feel softer every day. I’m also getting softer every day.
Given all that, I’m considering three options for a 23/24 boot refresher:
(1) continue to revive the TLT6p with fresh liners and vulcan tongues. they’re definitely good enough to continue as my spring boot, but I’d love if they could also remain as the midwinter daily driver.
(2) try to fit a F1LT as the seemingly most comparable replacement and the only boot that has given me a wandering eye from the TLT in the last…decade. If it fits, it should ski as good (better?) than the TLT ever did, no tongue fiddling between laps, and the pro tour liner comes “free”
(3) compromise on weight for the daily driver and try to fit a Hoji Free 130 or Backland XTD 120 — the two boots that currently have my attention as being worth the extra 300g on my feet. (I have a cheap pair of hoji’s coming in the mail to fondle and carpet test next week).
It seems like (1) + (3) is the obvious answer, but curious if (2) is the actually slipper for my next six seasons. thoughts?

The hoji free 130 is a great boot, both uphill and downhill

I was lover of the tlt6 (booster, intuition plug wrap), for a quiver of one boot also. I've ended up with 2 boot quiver of Technica ZGPT and Scarpa F1 LT. I don't have enough time on the LT to give an opinion on using it as a one quiver boot, but fit for me is money with no boot work and stock liner. I would check out the Scarpa F1 XT if I were in your boots. It wasn't readily available when I got my LTs but based on the few days I have on the LTs, I have a suspicion that the XT could be a direct replacement for your TLT6. find a pair to try on and report back! The LT so far skis way above what I thought it would so far, at least in corn, hardpack and other skanky spring conditions I skied them in.
I own the F1 LT and have the same touring quiver as you do. The only thing I can see you missing when going from the TLT6 is a (small) bit of downhill performance. That said, the LT’s more than make up for it with increased ROM, no tongues to fiddle with, and lower walking friction. If you decide to go for the F1 XT rather than the LT, that might give enough of an improvement in DH power that you wouldn’t miss the TLT’s.
That said, I’m a medium to bigger guy (~200lbs before ski gear, pack etc.) and find the LT to be more than enough boot to drive those skis, even in marginal conditions. My smaller statured ski partner also transitioned from TLT6’s to the F1 LT and is very satisfied, although he is around 40lbs lighter than I am, and skis on shorter skis than I do.
I haven’t done anything besides try the Hoji Free on, but I used to own a pair of Hawx and think that you’ll find them way to clunky to tour with if you are used to the TLT. They ski great though, and the fit is very similar to the TLT.
Hope this helps!

I moved from tlt 6 to scarpa alien rs to f1lt to f1xt. lots of miles on all. F1 XT skis better than tlt 6 and f1 lt. All the scarpas mentioned stride much better than the tlt6. xt< both fit snugger than the tlt6 - narrower and not as tall. If you’re on the cusp with room on top of foot, as I was, XT has more room than the LT because the lower buckle is on the outside, and you don’t have internal boa hardware taking up space or digging into the top of your foot.
the xt powder gaiter looks burly but it’s a piece of crap. It falls apart after some mileage. Even so, worth it to me for the advantages I’ve mentioned.
I have a TLT6 shaped foot and the F1 LT and F1 XT don't quite work for me, too roomy in the heel and not enough length for the toes. I also did not like the stiff flex of the F1 LT compared to the more progressive TLT6. I am very happy with the fit of the Skorpius, and I picked up a pair of Scarpa Aliens recently (not the RS or the 1.0, the plastic cuffed regular Alien) as a lighter option and am looking forward to trying them out. They have much better heel hold than the F1 LT a little more room in the forefoot. The Atomic Backland series is also worth a look, and Dynafit is also coming out with their own ~1200g boot later this winter which looks intriguing.
The Dalbello Quantum series also has a TLT6-like fit, I almost bought the Quantum Evo instead of the Alien as it fit me slightly better but I liked the more progressive flex of the Alien along with the lower price.
Second recommendation for the Skorpius; i’m coming from width punched TLT6 also and the Skorpius needed no shell work at all to work beautifully. No gaiter, no boa, sturdy, reliable and good downhill skiing manners.

Another vote for the Skorpius from me. Especially if you are coming from a lower volume boot like the tlt6. They are a great blend of low volume fit, very good walk mode, and ski quite well. Only downside is that they aren't the lightest
100% Skorps. I am adjusting a bit coming from TLT6 with: the forward lean, TLT6 was 18/20 deg, I was at 20, Skorp is 12/14/16; and the effective delta, Skorps feel like heel is quite a bit lower. I’m still fussing around, but think I’m getting close, some of it is just an adjustment after 10 years on TLT6/Vulcan.
For a lighter weight than the TLT6, they ski way way better. Effectively no limit on widest ski in the b/c unless you’re charging like in-area. Walk better, and no tongue fiddle faddle.
I’m kind of surprised so many people are recommending moving tlt 5/6 to f1.
Imho those boots fit so wildly different that I find it hard to see how the same foot is happy in both…
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
Tight toebox and loose heel onF1LT/alien, so weird

Just got a pair of 26.5 hoji free in hand, and they fit decently out of the box compared to my 27 tlt6. liner is terrible (as expected) but expect a pro tour with a little toe punch and they’ll fit quite well. Curious if I could ditch the toe buckle and upper strap for weight savings. Maybe get crazy and trim some sole lugs…
Sounds like I’ll have to check out the skorpuss and f1xt as well. If they ski definitely better than the TLT and are significantly lighter than the hoji free, then it’d be any easy choice (assuming they fit)
I’m glad to see there are so many good boots, but I sorta miss the days when tlt and Vulcans were the only legitimate game in town — just make them fit as best you can and go ski.
