the captive nut in the movable toe has stripped out, seems like the nylock nut is particularly tight and I guess I was able to get into toe height spec initially. Went to adjust slightly as I noticed toe movement and it was just spinning. Before I go all shade tree mechanic on with either epoxy or JB Weld and new lock nut is there an option to purchase the replacement part(s).
Or does a shop have a donor piece I could buy that is not jacked up?
I bought some skis on here with attacks (not the 2s) that had the same issue and design. I successfully glued the metal nut in the housing that stripped out and was then able to adjust toe height. I recall using toothpicks to keep the nut centered while the glue cured.
I am no help on this but thanks for the heads up - I use attack2’s and swap em on different skis with inserts. So I need to move that screw a lot to get at the insert screws. May need to get a spare toe piece just in case! Ugh
or lock down that screw with some epoxy or jb weld so that it won't move at all. Or, pull apart the screw and bolt, add a bit of white grease to the threads, so it doesn't bind up on the nylock or thread lock part of the bolt. I did just that on my set-up and then locked the nut back down into it's cradle.
