Evidently nothing.

Showed up about 25 minutes early for my eye exam. Grabbed a cart and took a lap around the store and I bought nothing. Is Costco losing its allure?
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Freedom fries at the Costco food court? Never seen them, ever. But now they are apparently gone.

They (and poutine) are still available in Canada. Most US Costcos never had fryers, so no fries. As far as I know, all Costcos in Canada have fryers. The poutine is pretty solid, especially for the price.

Made through two decades of adulthood without membership. It’s a trek to both closest options.

Wanting to book a trip, bought a membership and went for the first time since being a kid.

The new muffins are pretty good.

Interesting... When I lived in Vancouver I would go to costco with a friend who had a membership. I don't recall ever eating at the food court there which seems odd because we were usually on the lookout for cheap food. I'll have to check it out next time I'm home. They wouldn't dare get rid of poutine in Canada.

What do I want from Costco?

I've been using the BLUESKY helmet and goggles, 50 + days so far this season.

https://www.costco.com/ski-goggles-helmets.html

They’re pretty dam nice and cost about 30% of the major brands.

Not saying this is always the case, but there is a lot of trickery when it comes to materials labeling - they can say that the wool content is 100% merino (IE: all of the wool is from Merino sheep) but it doesn't make the garment 100% wool. I've got some Smartwool socks that are particularly poor performers and this ended up being the case. I think the sweater is probably still good but just for whatever it's worth.

My entire household rocks the Costco Spy helmets with Outdoor Master goggles. Zero complaints on the helmets.

There's plenty of "wool" and "merino" stuff that's blended with polyester, not just cheap house brands. Though indeed some products are 100% merino. On thinner weight items, part-synthetic blends improve durability quite a bit.

The smell of their hot dogs makes me want to puke.

Clearly you should have taken a lap after they corrected your lenses. You obviously weren't seeing things correctly if you bought nothing.

I don’t believe any smartwool socks (or products) claim to be 100% merino. They are pretty upfront that their wool is weaved with polyester and elastane/spandex. Hence, the “smartwool” name.

Yup. I think Darn Tuff has the best poly to wool ratio right now.

They certainly have the best warranty. Forever socks are a solid investment.

If only they sold some at Costco!!
Fack….. Wrong thread (taking lap now)

What do I want from Costco?

I’ve been digging Kirkland’s Helles Lager. It’s rebranded “king crispy” from deschutes. I think I paid $13 for a 12-pack which is pretty good considering a sixer of king crispy goes for $10.

All of Costco's 24-packs are a steal. My local store usually has Ballast Point and Alpine Beer Co variety packs for $30 and Societe's Pupil for $32. That's $7.50-8 per sixer for beer that is $12-14 everywhere else.

Oh I didn't know that. I am liking it quite a bit too. It's a great upgrade from Vitamin R for easily crushable beers.

Do photos show up for you guys? I posted this beer photo but it doesn’t show for me. Either it shows for y’all or it’s a real coincidence that you’re posting about the Kirkland beer
