Was the old-school car buying from Costco a set price with no dealer interaction? 15 or so years ago I remember seeing select vehicles at the entrance for sale. Now they just refer you to an approved dealer.
Any benefit whatsoever if looking for a new or used vehicle?
So the world is filled with tubular entities. Food goes in one end and shit comes out the other. Sperm goes in and babies come out.

Yes, its similar to Truecar, the dealer knows you're a savvy customer and will offer you a better price than they give to the general public and you can negotiate further from there

and I'm in different fucking country with provinces, I don't think booze is sold in BC but they do in Alberta for sure,

In 2010 if you had a costco card Ford would give you 1000$ off, so my buddy paid only 18k for a last gen ranger and I paid 19k , a smoking deal either way

I used it last time when I bought my car. What I did is got the Costco price and then shopped around for a dealer that would beat it.

My card got scanned at checkout, of course, but no further check. Seems like they trust us in Colorado.

And this is probably a more Washington state specific thing, but they are also now scanning your driver's license if you buy alcohol. They used to just come over and enter some arbitrary birth date if it was obvious you were way over 21. When I was in California a couple months ago I learned you're not even allowed to buy alcohol in the self-checkout lanes by law.
I got waved into self-checkout once. Half finished scanning my stuff the case of beer set off the "wait for employee" alert and I got sent to the back of one of the checkout lines. They only look at my ID about half the time. They can still bypass the check if you look "over 40". Checking ID at self-checkout makes sense to enforce memberships, since scanning the card at checkout probably brings up your photo on their screen.

Saw a news article recently about costco not planning to raise membership rates in the near future. CFO was quoted saying most of their profit comes from membership fees. So if they enforce no sharing and it leads to more people having to purchase memberships, that should help them delay raising rates.

I requested a quote online through Costco. Got a call from a local dealer internet rep within minutes. Supposedly you get their best no-haggle price. But they didn't want to tell me the all-in price with taxes and fees. Finally got her to divulge that number. I found one dealer advertising on CL of all places that quoted a lower price by maybe $700 but turned out to be up in LA - and who knows what bait and switch they might try to pull. Other local dealers said they couldn't match the Costco price. Still had to go in and haggle to get rid of all the BS extras they try to charge for like window tint, "protection package" etc etc and extended warranty. It took an annoying amount of time, but I drove away with new truck only a few hours after submitting the initial quote request. I'd use the service again if I were to buy new.

Costco does sell replacement roofs for the 10 x 20 tent/garage.
    #862931, currently $79.

But they don’t sell replacement side panels!

After failing with standard tarps, that are not any sort of fit, I finally found a real side/end panel kit that is made for this frame dimension.

    Wayfair
    SKU: GRDR1015
Gardesol Carport Replacement Sidewall Tarp for 10X20ft
    Currently $121.

    You are welcome.

People need more cadmium, lead and mercury in their diets.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Never underestimate the drawing power of a big hole in the ground, especially one filled with a deadly soup of arsenic, cobalt, and cadmium.

The Berkeley Pit at one time was America's Largest Truck-Operated Open Pit Copper Mine. Now it's a massive lake of deadly drainage, as large as 484 football fields, 1,800 feet deep (deeper than any of the Great Lakes) and a mile across.

The pit holds over 40 billion gallons of waste so deadly that in 1995 it killed over 300 snow geese that mistakenly landed on it. The snow geese slaughter happened again in late November 2016, when 10,000 of them landed on the liquid and thousands succumbed.

The mine pit is also an official attraction! Pay two dollars, walk through a tunnel cut through the pit's side, and emerge at the Overlook and Interpretive Pavilion, with picnic tables, restrooms, and a snack bar. You're kept safely out of the Death Zone, and serenaded by honking horns that try to discourage birds from landing on the toxic brew. The water level is rising even though the lake is literally eating its way down through the bedrock, and its deadly contaminants can display a dazzling palette of colors -- red, yellow, neon green -- in the sunlight.

^^ Is that where they have bird hazers on the payroll, presumably to try and avoid a repeat snow goose event?

That's the place. And the mining companies still keep saying, "trust us, we will do the right thing".
