Let me lock in the system at Warp 2
Push it on into systematic overdrive
You know what to do
I honestly think that Sage trains harder than the other competitors, and that shows. Dude is an athlete.
Outstanding final.
This should be done in jam format in my opinion. Like a group of friends lapping a chair on a pow day. You keep going till you get tired, snow gets all tracked out, or the lift stop spinning. Top 3 or 5 move on and not this one guy vs other guy thing…

Baldface is up now. Watch Travis's first run and Blake Paul's. One's an 88 and the other is a 50. The 88 happens to belong to the guy paying the judges.
Kinda fun to watch, stop calling it a competition.

Either way I thought the amount of falling was embarrassing for snowboarding....
I caught Elena Hights run on the 'gram. Thought she put down a tight run, actually like hers better than the young lady who won 1st but what do i know.

That was pretty incredible riding before the finals when the light went flat...semis was incredible! Give it a watch. Makes up for baldfaces shitty riding....T.Rice was on another level in AK!
Pretty bad ass that everyone based camped and partied out in the field! Super cool!
Riding was awesome but holy cow the superlatives from the announcer dude.
"That was obviously not just the best backcountry snowboard contest run Alaska has ever seenbut the best snowboard run Alaska has ever seen!"

Agreed. I watched a bit of it live, then stopped and waited for it to be on replay so I could skip straight to the drop ins.
Great concept. Shame the weather didn’t hold for finals.
anybody watching the natural selection?

really liked this location and both guys riding
the austrians sucked, so those duels were mehhh
I watched a few. i like the duel format where they pick different venues. I thought the Rice's Jackson area was sweet. The two Whistler backcountry ones were too!
I've tried watching several. Booooooring. Repetitive lines on teeny tiny faces. And as soon as I see they cleaned up the takeoffs... fuck that slopestyle shit. I'll keep looking for the steep terrain they show in the intro but so far no thanks. It's like they were searching for a format that would push the riders to not push it.

And as much as I didn't like the duels, that's how much I like the Revelstoke stuff. This is awesome terrain.

ok the final runs of t.rice were impressive. so much steez
When you just watch this, it's crazy awesome. When you watch the whole contest you'll hear the commentators the entire time talk about how if you're line builds on someone else's that will be taken into account. There was no way Travis did that line as fluidly if he didn't see Dustin do it earlier (less fluidly) in a heat with Travis that most thought Dustin should have won. Travis followed Dustin's track in (during the finals), and was able to break rider's right to exactly where he wanted to be. It obviously wouldn't make a difference it was far and away the winning run regardless.
