here's a drummer i came across after hearing his drum solo sountrack for Birdman. i later found out Antonio Sanchez also did the drum solos for the cable series Get Shorty.

not sure how i went so long NOT knowing of this great (and very much recorded) drummer. metheny played locally recently. if i'd known sanchez was in his group THEN i'd have gone.

THEY SHOT THE PIANO PLAYER
My grasp on Jazz is pretty loose, so some of this film went over my head.
I understand why they chose Jeff Goldblum as the narrator, but he was ultimately distracting. The overall “mystery” was basically solved early on, so the search for the “truth” became a bit redundant, not to mention confusing trying to keep up with all the various people being interviewed.
The music was stellar though, as is the animation.
In short, if you are a fan of Bossa Nova, I would recommend checking this out.
