Shit, man - gas at Costco was $2.79 while a station just 3 miles away was $3.99.

Costcos that aren't in border towns sell gas at a loss.

Yep. My friend's sister was a Costco exec. Their revenue from memberships alone is in the billions. They do well on groceries too - especially their private label stuff which generates huge volumes. But some lines (like gas) only exist to attract customers.

At our two local Costco locations, gas attracts WAY too many customers. Last couple times I've gone somewhere and paid more because ain't nobody got time for those lines.

Try living in a border town. On any given day, our Costco gas is 50% Canadians - and higher on weekends. They typically have between one and four 5 gallon gerry cans to "import" back to Canada. Pick the wrong line and you'll be there for half an hour.

Or about the time to charge with a fast charger. Get used to it.

Well, we do own an electric car as well. On the rare occasion we don't charge it at home, we can leave the car at the charger, and grab a coffee or snack or short dog walk. The local Costco gas is just 30 to 60 cars idling for 10-20 minutes.

Stayed in a very kitschy hundreds-of-pumpkin-themed-item Airbnb. I mean it was fine, but there was not even space on the coffee tables, bedside tables, bathtub edges, etc. to set anything down. This was because of the pumpkin spice wax warmers, pumpkin spice lotions, pumpkin shaped dolls, pumpkin scented soaps, Halloween candy dishes, etc. etc. etc.
    How does TGR review this?

You missed an opportunity to have fun with it. You should have collected all that shit and piled it in a corner somewhere.

If evil dictators like Hitler, Pol Pot, Idi Amin had never been born would it make any difference? Would there be another equally evil fuck to take their place?

    Yes.

Just like it takes a huge amount of luck to become a multi billionaire even though there are plenty of people talented enough to achieve it, there are plenty of despotic people in the world, but you need to luck into the right circumstances to be able to achieve that level fuckery.

(Or no. I mean, if you took out those particular people, everything leading up to the atrocities is different. But I don’t think they were uniquely depraved and uniquely talented people who were inevitably going to achieve what they did.)

How do I see the comet in VT??? I've followed all the different conflicting instructions I can find. Last Saturday I was busy. It rained after that. I've been out the last three nights and can't find it. I see Venus and persist until well after Arcturus is visible. Supposedly it's slightly above and to the right of Venus.

I'm about 500 miles to your left, but I think it's mostly timing. I find as soon as the sun has set (and for the next 15 minutes or so) it's pretty easy to spot, in my case I got lucky, just look west and have been seeing it the last few days.

It's tiny though, and easily mistaken for an air plane.
