That’s a given. No joke, I was making up some stupid song this morning to my wife about how “the only thing to do in Bakersfield is jerk off…”. She was amused.

Currently downtown and this place blows. My schedule has me in Visalia at the end of the day tomorrow so I’ll stay up there tomorrow. 90mins to Seqoia NP?

I just have to be back in Bakersfield by 3:00 weds afternoon for a flight home.

It was the best Dead & co. show I've seen, I haven't seen that many though, maybe 6? But a smoking Althea, a ridiculous They Love Each Other, a super nice Cold Rain and Snow but I love that song, and closing with an emotional Ripple, it was a good show for sure. A weird truncated Dark Star that was just about to go into Franklins', then stopped on a dime at the last second and then went into Fire On The Mountain after like a five-second complete pause was something different.

Since you asked. You asked, right?

Neighbor and I were getting drunk at the pool and decided to leave our kids with the wives and head in. He couldn’t name a single dead song but the edibles hit him right about when Fire came on and i pretty much lost him for the rest of the show.

TLEO was awesome, the weight/ripple encore was great, and whatever the fuck JM was doing all night was great. Also, Oteil should sing more.

Ok, so it's not the As anymore, but how can you not be romantic about baseball?

There’s nothing romantic about what they did to that franchise.

True. I visited family in the East Bay in 2015 and asked about catching an As day game as something fun and nostalgic to do with kids at a classic ballpark. They acted as if I had farted and then they suggested spending a heap ton of money to see the Giants in their new stadium. I wasn't interested.

Back in 2015 they’d actually still draw decent crowds. I went to a sold out game in 2017 there. The decline has been fast.

You can also get really cheap Giants tickets to almost any game. Like $10 cheap.

In 2015 Giants tickets for our visit were too high.

When cars, and stoves, and all the other dinosaur-powered things get changed over to electric, what are we gonna use to fire up backup generators when the power goes out?

    Uranium? Candles? Pelotons?
