Hopefully I’ll be using my electric car’s battery to power the essentials in the house, at least for short term outages.

I’m sure gas to run generators will be around for a pretty long time. It’s not a concern in the near term.

Yes, because that's unfair to those who are intelligent assholes rather than just idiots.

Going to dive into boxes of old records (taxes, pay stubs, etc) with the intent of getting rid of a bunch of it.

Any good guidance out there of stuff that should get chucked and stuff that should get restored or scanned and filed?

No guidance on what to keep but shredding or burning at home is a pain. Ask around local banks or credit unions for seasonal shredding events.

Looking back, no one asked me “how high are you?” about that.

    Can't find an answer online:

My Android phone has started switching avatars.

A couple of weeks ago it switched a friend's avatar to her mother's (same last name). However if the friend messages me it changes back to her avatar. Later if I look at the contact it will be her mother again.

Today it has switched my avatar to a photo from my gallery.

Phone is older. Software is up to date.

I can't help KQ except to say that my recently activated, year old bottom of the line Galaxy started popping up random websites or opening apps on its own. At first I thought there was something wrong with the phone but then I realized--this is AI, recognizing what I need or want before I know that I need or want it. It's miraculous really. Now why AI would switch the avatars on your phone I don't know but the ways of the lord are mysterious. In time the truth will be revealed.

I think AI might also explain why my new drivers license has a picture of my grandfather instead of me.

Google is not your friend. Android is google.

Not that apple doesn’t Hoover up all your shit. They just do it more quietly and politely.

Latest windows update has a feature where they Hoover every photo on your pc. You have to opt out. Lol

Did the AI also put your grandfather's picture in the mirror?

Where did the “I got robbed” thread go?

Surely deleted, but aren’t we eager to see if the OP gets his $ back!?

Maybe someone donated $50K to his gofundme, and he was made whole.
