I hadn't bought anything at Brooks Brothers for 20 years or more but they put this nice-looking casual microfiber fall jacket in the window and I decided to go in and try it on the next time I went by but by the time I got over again there it was closed but the jacket was still in the window for like the next year.

Bought my first blazer and pants for my HS prom at BB. Had no clue. They lady fitting me got kind of annoyed and finally said pull up the pants, these aren’t jeans. Lol

Can't go wrong with a Jerry tie..

But yeah, fuck ties in general. Worn one to a couple of weddings in the past few years but that sucker comes off the moment the ceremony's over and the reception starts.

Ghosthop, are you in SLC? Just go to Nordstroms at City Creek with a picture of the dress your wife is wearing and talk to a helpful hot woman or a stylish gay dude. They’ll get ya set up.

Double Windsor knots are for people from Jersey that sell pinky rings.

Jos A Bank and Mens Wearhouse are owned by Mens Wearhouse. In our shopping mall the Banks store closed and there is only Mens Wearhouse now.

Re Ties- used to wear them all the time. Still sometimes do every day, but since Pandemic much less.

If you want a nice tie and not break the budget for a few times use- stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross (Dress for Less) and even Kohl's or sometimes JC Penney have some nice affordable tie brands. Spill something on them and you do not feel bad about not wearing it again (because dry cleaners are charging a good amount to clean them and they usually come back not looking all that great anyway and start to not have the same structure or liner all messed up.) Want something different- go with a bow tie and then you do not have to worry about the spill of food or drink on it either. YMMV.

Full Windsor is mandatory on a spread collar.
Do not use it on a button down.

What is the best car scratch remover I can get on Amazon?

I’ve used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor years ago but didn’t seem to work well. Is there any fancy new miracle products out there?

    For paint, plastic, or?

If paint, and you're talking about just swirl marks or very light scratches (not down to the metal, repaint time), I like Meguiars Ultimate Compound. It's not a harsh compound like the old cans. You can apply by hand, or it works really well with an orbital and appropriate foam pads.

Nu Finish is pretty crappy for anything.

Paint mainly but if there is one that helps with plastic too that would be great.

These aren’t swirls, just really fine hairline scratches here and there and not down to the paint.

    I’ll check out Meguiars, thanks!

How come no one chants "Offense, offense!" at basketball games? (And a lof of good the incessant chanting of "defense" did the Kings today. I wasn't watching but it was annoying hearing it coming from the other room.)

The point is mostly to yell something, anything, to make noise and disrupt the offense. All part of home vs away. No idea how effective any of that is, but I suspect somebody has crunched those numbers.
    focus.

    Try regular Nu Finish?

It’s also CR’s top pick. Maguire’s NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 is a close second.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    Ordered this

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06WV...b_b_asin_title

Came yesterday and tried it out.

It worked great on scuffs and very small scratches and using the drill bit buffer was oddly satisfying.

If you can run your fingernail over the scratch and can feel the “click” - this won’t work. It helped diminish the scratch look a little but not sure if anything can polish out a real scratch. If so post up a link.

What's the consensus on bed sheets these days? I need a set of regular cotton sheets cuz it's time for the flannel to come off.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!

Why do people not flush after taking a shit in an office building toilet? Seems uncivilized.

As far as I know, there's nothing that'll fix deeper scratches besides the rabbit hole that is auto detailing. That website has great guides. Be prepared to spend several hours reading, then buying, then doing.

Probably not a consensus, but I like brooklinen.com for their sheets. Right now they’re running 25% off.

I’ve been using Lands End Oxford cotton sheets for a decade or so. They’re excellent - affordable, break in and soften nicely over time, and last quite a while.
