Maybe that's why he preferred to eat off chinette. Can't keep buying nice clear china plates if you have to leave them behind every time you run from the apartment.

I was just looking at some pictures of my great grandparents who were both born in 1882 and I got to wondering how many other people here knew someone who was born in the 1800s. Well? Anyone? Bueller?

    Random Unthreadworthy Questions

I was acquainted with a couple born in the 19th century when I was quite young. And hope to be lucky to influence one or two that make it to the 22nd. Kinda unreal to think about.

    That’s too easy.

My grandparents. And I remember Aunt Mabel driving her car at her 103rd birthday party, when I was a kid.

My great grandmother and her sister. I barely remember the former, she died when I was four. The other was driving into her 90s. In fact, my grandfather got pretty sore at me because 12 yo me accompanied her on a drive to the local greenhouse. She was just happy to have some company and someone to carry stuff to and from the car. Somehow I wasn't supposed to let her drive??? She died a few months later. I don't remember when they were born, however my grandfather was born in 1911.

Yeah all 4 grandparents were born in the 1800's, three of them in Ireland. They saw some changes in their lives.

L2S Capital One is very easy to deal with for miles. They bought the bank I used to use so I didn't consciously choose them but I've kept with them. You just buy your tickets like normal and then erase the charge with your miles. Easy peasy.

Thanks Ice, after reading many different credit card sites and offers, I went with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card. Seems like a great card to team up with my Alaska Card. Alaska presently has a solid partner airline arrangement. 120k miles for us (2 people) to fly Business class to Copenhagen next year. Fucking Delta wants 340k miles for us to fly home in fancy coach. So I will close the Delta card and just use the Alaska and Chase cards for now.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

OK, why in the hell are Birthday cards so fucking expensive? $4.99 to 6.99 for a piece of heavy paper with some bullshit on it that the recipient tosses in the trash after glancing at it?

Nope--Adidas just dropped Ye. Apparently the Germans are a little sensitive about being associated with an anti Semite.

Finally! Geez. Took them a lot longer than it should have. I know a few adidas employees who were publicly calling for it a few days ago.

I think he'd been trying to get them to terminate the relationship for a while but they were dragging their feet, cuz that shit was very lucrative, so he found the appropriate nerve to gently prod and sure enough they caved straight away.

Hey I've been having issues posting pics and videos from my mac, I've been pulling my hair out a little on it, is it possible it's on the mobile version? How do I switch to desktop if so?

I think there’s a drop-down that you can pick your theme on in the footer. Maybe try that first? Otherwise there are ways to force the browser into desktop vs mobile/tablet modes

Thanks yeah I tried that and I guess I'm not in the mobile version, htat looks entirely differnt.

If I try to post an image and do "copy image address" and then paste it here, or if I just copy and paste the address, either way it shows up as a link with a shortened name, almost like a tinyurl name, instead of just posting the actual address and letting me use the [img] tags. It just started doing this with Youtube videos too, it never did it with videos until the last week or so.

I thought it was a Mac thing, or maybe something to do with icloud, but I turned off icloud and that didn't fix it, and then I went to another forum and tried doing the same stuff and it worked fine, so it's something from here that's causing it and I'm baffled. I can't post pics at all, just links to them. I figured out a workaround with the videos using the [youtube] tags but it's not optimal. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to a dollar store. $1.25 (inflation) and they are legit cards, Hallmark I think.

    Changed my life

Also. They have good balloons for a $1.25 as well.
