I've seen goalies pulled again after an empty netter, once the losing team gets the puck deep--usually in the playoffs, especially win or go home games. But then 95% of the hockey I watch is playoffs so maybe it happens more often.

Huh. I've watched a lot of hockey and I don't remember seeing that but it would make sense

Don’t preheat anything for hockey. It ruins the ice

I cook everything in cast iron or stainless except eggs. I like nonstick for those.
Some stainless will work with induction, some won't. Check with a magnet or on the web site.
My all clad will hold a magnet. I don't have tramontina but if I buy any more cookware I'll probably get it from them. I know they have induction compatible 3 ply. I don't know if all of it is. My Cuisinart is compatible, I have some Calphalon that's not. And the Revereware someone gave us as a wedding present--nope.
Even if you don't have an induction range if you're buying expensive cookware to last decades I'd go with induction compatible. Natural gas is slowly on the way out, faster some places -- like California--than others. (While the amount of NG a stove uses is trivial, the amount of methane that leaks from well to stove is not. Besides once you have electric heating and water heating it won't pay the gas company to service you.)

I use stainless if there's going to be a sauce in the pan, otherwise cast iron for sauteing.

Canucks pulled their goalie several times last night. Time, face offs, penalties, and score are all considered. There are rules that you also most have a net tender after certain play stoppage, like icing I think?

Unless you wanna dip into your home’s equity, I can’t imagine any meaningful solution outside of what might be offered through your dealer or the manufacturer, captive or indirect. You’d need somebody who has control over the inventory to be able to secure it in advance of delivery, and no independent would be able to do that. Note that delivery of title (and opportunity to add a lien holder to that title) is what’s important. You shouldn’t have a hard time finding an independent FI who doesn’t care whether or not it’s actually in your driveway or whatever, though some might actually care so I wouldn’t volunteer that info. Maybe they can get you the title in advance?
Good to know. Dealer emailed today and said we should have our unit by the end of month. With the advice of a financial planner, we may seek to split the funding with a home improvement loan, Rv loan, and a 1/3 down.

Why does music I’ve “downloaded” on pandora disappear? Or need to be connected to the internet. Or “buffering”? Isn’t that why I downloaded it in the first place?

Islanders did this last night also, pulled goalie with under 2 min left down 2-1, gave up the netter with about a minute left, pulled the goalie after the faceoff. Lost 3-1

I was going to come on here and ask why the front license plates on my kids' Foresters keep getting bent. I was convinced it was being done by pranksters in the high school parking lot, but both my daughters denied any such thing was going on--they would know about it, they claimed, because none of those teenage boys can keep something like that quiet. I would take the plates off and bend them back, but a couple months later I would notice them bent again. I know they weren't hitting/scraping stuff with the front of their cars. Again I said it had to be happening in the school parking lot. No, they said. Finally I turned to Google and found this. Mystery solved? Maybe..

Mystery solved? Looks like everyone is still scratching their heads. Do you use a touch car wash?

Anyone with an anxious introverted spouse? What do you do when they start wanting to bag on pre-planned things?

I think it kind of depends on if you think they just need a little encouragement and will enjoy it once they are out of the house, or if they are overwhelmed and need some time and space.

Tell them you’re going to do it. Remove any ambiguity.

Break out a one gram line of Xanax and 4 shots of bushmills. They'll be right as rain.

My kids have used a touch car wash very occasionally. But some people on that thread said they had not used one but plates bent anyway... so it is either the car wash or some sort of strong backdraft at highway speed that is bending the plates. The way plates mount of Foresters and Rav4s is weird, with no backing. I don't know, just never seen that in any car I've owned.

Meaning it's just a couple screws right into the bumper? I've had that on a couple Subarus now, but no bent plates here. I could see backdraft being a possibility though.

I searched and nothing on using Airline Miles. I have a fuckton of Delta and Alaska miles, BUT not enough for us both to fly Delta One to Yurp, cuz the tickets average 500k miles each
Alaska has a partnership with British & Finnair, but neither are showing any business class flights and Delta, those fuckers are not showing anything like that either for 2023.
The airlines told me look when the tickets are first posted (I have been) for Sept 2023 or a few weeks before the flights when unused seats may be added (nothing).
That said I am kind of over searching everyday and ready to move on to a card that credits the miles earned as cash toward any ticket bought.
What are the maggots using and why?
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
