I think the sale on kraton exb just ended, they were down to $330 for an incredible truck. Needs electronics.
Looks like price is back up. You'll still break bits here and there as you improve driving skills, and you will break more as you start going big, but man, the 1/8 arrma stuff is good.

I was having some weird power issues on the 6x6. I'm hoping this external BEC will solve it. Fingers crossed.

It is! It’s a two part iron paint and rust “activator”.
Silver paint on the inside of the body.
Iron paint, then the blue top coat on the outside of the body.
I then sanded the blue top coat off in places to expose the iron paint, and applied the activator to get the rust. I then put a clear coat on it to lock the rust in.

My 2.5 year old is starting to understand his little rc car that only goes forward or makes a backwards U turn. What is a good next car if he continues to spend time on this?

This one is great. It's slow enough to not get away from them, but will still crawl over stuff. It runs on 6AA's, we used rechargeables.

I bought this one as a Christmas gift for my 3.5yo, based on advice in this thread. It's an awesome value and quite capable. X2 on rechargeable batteries. The controls will take the little ones some time to learn. My son has big hands and can't do the reverse function without his other hand . Mom and dad have fun crawling it over the kid toys in our family room.

My son got Christmas money and bought a super cheap RC truck from CVS. Thankfully it was (shockingly!) defective and we took it back. To assuage him, I let him order one of those cheap, weird, each side's wheels can flip, stunt vehicles from Amazon. It's only been two days, but we're having a very good time running it around the house. It's basically a skid steer and when if flips you have to reverse directions on the little control sticks, so it's tricky. It has no throttle modulation at all. I've basically been chasing him around trying to hit him with it. It's really the best of all worlds in me getting to drive all the time and him burning energy. He's eventually going to step on it and break it as he dodges/jumps over it, but with a $30 vehicle, I'm happy to jump it off things and run it near his dodging feet and have a good time while it lasts.

Question: what are the games I should buy to start us out on? Ones that are cheaper is cool, but ones we will play together and have fun on together is also cool.
Update: this thing is awesome. Gave her/me the console for Hannukah, with Mario Kart and Tennis. For Xmas I gave Zelda and Mario + Rabbids.

We actually played a bunch of all of them this weekend. And it's a good variety of games, a driving game, a sports game, a role playing game, and a turn based strategy game.

For her birthday (this month), I also have Hades and Monopoly/Trivial Pursuit/Risk.

And I bought a wired controller, screen protector, and that case that was linked.

It's been a great addition to our house.
