Having gone through the training for HWS before realizing I didn't wanna do that, I'll say a good chunk of those kids just want to get a free pass and go get wasted at their cabin for the weekend... I'm sure there are some good ones but I'll opt for another school where you're more likely to get a parent or sibling of the kids or something like that.
Powderpigs is on a lottery now. I didn't get in last year, which was fine because my 4 y.o. just wanted to ski with me anyways but I'll be more insistent on getting him in a class next season, so I appreciate these recommendations too.

I went through training with HWS too. I stayed at the cabin and got really wasted. I didn’t get the job, so they had some standards. Maybe you were there too.

Funny. I think that was 2011 or 2012 for me.

I wouldnt be mad about that haha. Unfortunately/fortunately my kid is super social (one of those kids that makes friends at every playground, always asking to play, always saying hi, etc) and A) enjoys group settings A LOT, and B) is much more willing to push his phyiscal boundaries when the kid next to him is doing it too (he's competitive and thrives playing with older kids). So, i really think group lessons would be ideal.

I guess we can always sign him up for the Central6 lessons now, and cancel later if we get into the PowderPigs through their raffle.

    2025-26 Alpy Passes

I got the email today regarding passes going on sale for next winter. The full boat, Alpy Plus Pass will be $859. About a $67 increase. Comes with parking and all the same benefits as last year. You can also add the Ikon base pass for an additional $300 which is a $600 discount. Sweet deal!

I have a camping reservation for Lot 3 this weekend for friday and saturday night. Face value is 80+tax, I'd be interested in sending it to an interested party for 40 via venmo OBO. Big Chair2 party should make a great time. Send me a message if interested.
