Hi all,
I posted this in the Whistler thread, but someone suggested that it should have its own thread, as it applies to all skiers with a Vail-owned resort seasons pass.
I live in Vancouver and ski at Whistler. I am fortunate to get around 50 days a year. I don’t ski other resorts. Like many people here, I have booked my 7 day priority day reservations already (Xmas break). The plan is to roll them along and re-book as the season progresses.
Because I booked these days in advance, Vail is going to assume that I want the Priority Day Epic Coverage. That coverage would work great if I was a tourist coming in for those specific days, but it is not what I want as a season-long skier.
What I really want is the Core Season Coverage, which will give a pro-rated refund based on the number of days the resort is closed in the Core Season.
You have to select your coverage by December 7, otherwise. Vail will default you to the 7 day. I did it on the website and it was pretty easy.
There is a lot of detail on the Vail site. The FAQ is not bad and sets it all out. A bit too much legal wording, and not clearly drafted of course.
This is going to be different for different people and different resorts, so just a heads up to go check it out and make sure you have the right coverage selected for your situation.
Let’s hope none of us need it!
