The New and improved Oregon 2020/2021 Ski Season Thread
Ride-on Heather laps all morning and it is just getting better. HCM ftw to stay out of the wind!
Started slow as dust on crust (only 2”) but it just kept filling in. Afternoon riders will love it. My legs are done for today.

Pulled the probe out at 5k in the trees today just to see how deep the snow is... my probe is 320cm and it didn’t bottom out even pushing it another 30cm down. Gonna be a long spring ski season fellas! 350cm+ snow depth, yes please!

Probably the usual suspects.
Today looks windy and sucky and tomorrow will be much better ...especially if upper heather pops with clear sky. And I’m sticking with that story since I plan to bag work and head on up
tomorrow.

That was my plan but I've been informed we are dirt bike riding instead.

I may bag the rest of fucking week and head on over to Bachelor for the summit under clear sky.
I'm thinking Thursday and Friday. If I make it up that way, sure like to make a few turns with you, Jonesy.

Went up for a few hours of turns at mhm. Very wintry. Knee deep in the trees. Small storm slabs on steep lee slopes. Lower HRM/fright was heavy bumpy cream cheese. Surprisingly busy for a Monday.

Epic morning. More like a foot in the sunrise lot when I stepped out of the truck.
Not blower for sure, not exactly packed powder, for sure not cream cheese (@ least not in the bowls).
Water fall was all-time.

You know when you get to the hill on a weekend, while you’re on the lift, and checking out all the lines and tracks and think, “damn there was a lot of fun here.” Well today, at Skibowl was one of those days when all the fun was had. It was still snowing when I left the parking lot, so tomorrow could be pretty good too.
Upper bowl skied good all day. First tracks on Reynolds were great. Not the lightest powder, but still powder and plenty of face shots. Only Cascade Concrete to be found was on Downhill, which was Ok the first run I took at about 1pm with plenty of untracked snow and serviceable the second run I took at about 6:30 with a lot more tracks. I think my best lines of the day were on Accelerator and Radical.
Outback was closed and will be the place to be later in the week.
I grabbed this picture about Happy Hour at the Warming Hut. No liftlines all day and about every third chair occupied on Upper Bowl at a time. Zoom in to see how many chairs are unoccupied.
Hours are 12:00 to 8:00 PM for the weekdays."Let's be careful out there."

Sweet powder solitude. How was the newt crossing? Two weeks ago there was a sagging snow bridge upstream...

Bachelor was full Jerry by 11. Low moisture content snow, glad I brought mr powskis. That 65mm waist floats so well.
