Haha. Well thanks for pointing out he was actually a bit of a dick KQ.
I think he was the best bond though. But a dick nonetheless.

Yes, I suffered through Zardoz. It had its moments, I have to admit, but really would have been better with the MST3K bots in front of it. I guess you might say it was a ballsy role for Sir Connery.

Anyway, he was a fine actor overall, RIP.

That’s why you get shit on.
This a Sean Connery death thread.

And you can’t acknowledge his genius. And his contribution to the bond legend.

PS. George Lazenby beats Craig every time.

Lazenby was nominated for a golden globe for playing Bond - just some trivia for you.

Connery is still the best Bond though - it’s not even a contest.

The Daniel Craig ones are cool but they don’t come close to competing.

Choosing Daniel Craig just proves you are just trolling to troll sometimes, Benny. Use your ammo more wisely since sometimes you have fair points. You’re better than that.

I remember For your eyes only being my first real Bond experience. The skiing scene in Cortina sealed it for me.

When my dad and uncle said Connery was the real Bond and Roger Moore was a tool, I was like WTF old men? After viewing all Bond films without prejudice, they were right. Bond is Connery, Connery is Bond. Einhorn is Finkel.

I’ll be pouring out a little bit of my martini...shaken not stirred, of course.

Connery was great as Bond but Craig’s Bond is more true to the Ian Fleming character in the books. Fleming wrote Bond as a sociopath.

I just read that Fleming changed the backstory to make Bond's father Scottish to match Connery, so it's pretty clear Fleming thought well of the casting.

Of course he did, I think Connery was great too. Have you read the early books?

This comment is not without basis. Sure, from a sheer movie standpoint, Connery. But the books are way, way different than the movies. No gadgets. It’s clear Bond has serious mental issues, the murder of his wife shortly after their wedding put him over the edge if he wasn’t already there. He has no real connections to people, which of course makes him perfect for the job. He gets the living crap beaten out of him often. Yes, he wears a Rolex Oyster Perpetual, smokes private label cigarettes, drives an old supercharged Bentley and eats in fine restaurants, because that’s what you do when you live alone and don’t hang out with people.

Yeah I've read all of them I think, but years ago. I was never a big fan of Moore in the role but the others have all been okay with me, but overall I prefer Connery I guess.
