Does anyone have a physical therapist that they would recommend within 30 minutes of Midvale?

Broke my hip a week and a half ago.

Danny at Canyon sports is great. He won’t take it easy on you but if you want to get back to high level activity he’s awesome.

Well that sucks. Did you have total hip replacement? I broke my hip in a bike fall a year ago Labor day and had total hip replacement (posterior) and found that therapy was a waste. Just do some exercises at home and ride a stationary bike when you can. I was riding a bike in Colorado up Vail Pass a month later and i was 60, so easier if you're younger. Pretty quick recovery.. Did you have the anterior or posterior? Good luck with recovery.

@snowaddict91, thank you for the rec, I will look into it!

@altacoup, Canyon Sports was actually the recommendation I got from my surgeon but unfortunately they are out of network for me. I'm gonna keep this in my back pocket but hoping to find something in network first.

@JongDoe, fortunately did not have a hip replacement, just got screwed back together with a few thick boy rods.

Edit: checked the surgery notes, the surgeon used a direct lateral approach, dissected through the iliotibial band. I believe he cut through my vastus lateralis.

Does anyone happen to have experience with In Motion Physical Therapy? Their Fort Union location is pretty close to me, in-network, seems to have good reviews.

Hot damn, that was a good time. Thanks for the mega hookups to both TFW and SFB. It's gotdamn amazing to drive 5 hours, show up and get handed a pass for the day. Sure beats the hell outta forkin over big bills.
But that's not remotely the best part - Man, nothing beats ripping around with 5 solid mags smacking the vert and goofing off all the while. I love that shit...catching up on the chairs, laughing and telling stories of other mags, assessing all the amazing terrain in those 2 canyons, safety stops.
Nothing makes average skiing great, like turning with friends.

I have gained a new appreciation for Alta, it's steeper than I thought and the terrain must really require a lot of local knowledge to nail the sickest lines. Tight, steep trees and rocks in no fall zones thrill me and fuck did I see a lot of that yesterday. Awesome.

HTFB's rolling comment about another long traverse was the funniest for me. I know it's cliche' for you but that just tickled the hell out of me.

I've had a top notch winter at home but man, you mags have really put the cherry on it for me with this lil' shindig. Thanks to all of you.

Positive Irations to - SkiFishBum, TelefreeWasatch, Happytimefunbox, Schindlerpiste, and My brodog from the Pndub and his Quality son.

Hope to see some of you slc mags up my way this off seasons and especially fishing time.

Solitude is now requiring beacon shovel probe to go through the fantasy gate. Their insta post said it was permanent.

No idea what prompted the change, but videos like the one below certainly help to encourage it. (If you familiar with Fantasy, a close watch of this video proves very entertaining, especially when paying attention to the time of day, where they ski, the editing, etc.)

Wow, that 2nd dude was shitting his pants for sure. I've been scared like that on terrain not nearly as steep and it takes a lot out of you.

That's standard equipment for today's Jerry, I feel. Even the GSA had a harness on at all times.

Long overdue, and I don’t think it was any specific situation that caused the change. Although they did have a jerry stuck up there for a few hours not too long ago.

Some fantasy stoke from last Saturday:

It's showing up as private for me now too. Bummer, I should have saved that one. Maybe they are lurking here...

Nice stoke altabird. How was the exit of hanging bone there? Only time I skied that, it was facets over rocks, which made my first turn rather eventful.

Maybe he saw the uptick in views? I think you can also view hyperlinks of your videos. I didn't look at the comments since posting the vid here, but when I looked before, there were already a few negative comments, and he took it like a champ, replying that it was a big lesson to learn. I thought posting the video was pretty rad, kind of like owning your mistakes in avalanche incidents, but with more of a jerry flavor. A lot of people underestimate Fantasy, and I'm sure they could have had a better time getting down if there weren't going down Shot 5 ½.

No specific incident caused the change in policy, its something that has been discussed for the past month or so. The average Soli skier has changed the past two years and patrol is often overwhelmed with the people calling for assistance on EGP and the ridge. The marketing department hasn't helped either with their hyping the hike to terrain up on social media.
...I guess if you had to point to a final straw, it was a clueless California bro cliffed out in the Guiottine and his girlfriend telling management that they as skiers don't need to make smart terrain decisions because "that's what patrol is for".

Granted, most underskilled bro brahs ski the resort on shifts and with an airbag already to show how they "mostly ski tour". Hopefully this policy change will help keep some of the absolutely unprepared out of high consequence spots.

Classy move. Patrol should have engraved "personal responsibility" on a piece of bamboo and flogged both of these asshats with it.

Too bad it was removed...for someone who dreams of doing fantasy one day, it might be good to see something other than 10 year olds making it look easy!

Is this the main chute used off Fantasy? Looked fun the other day from below.

Soft avy debris, about as good as it gets. A few weeks ago the choke was solid yellowish ice, as it gets a lot of run off from the cliffs above.

A good friend is a partner at Mountainland Physical Therapy, she's in the office off of South Temple. She took care of me when I had my shoulder re-done last year. She's great, and she skiis harder than you.
