Got some descent snow up at Kendall on Snoqualmie Pass on Saturday, and then skied the worst snow I've skied all season at Alpy on Sunday.

Ive been riding bikes too much lately and getting antsy to slide on snow again. Thinking about checking out silver peak area sometime this week after work for a solo dusk patrol. Anyone know how far the road goes right now?

Just got back from Mt. Baker. Didn’t summit but skied great May pow down Coleman Glacier on Sunday. Will post pics later. Buddy took a tumble on the glacier and almost lost a ski...that was quite a moment. Recovered it sticking in the side of a crevasse, lucky break for our group.

I bet not far, we did it from hyak and just had the short bottom walk on dirt. First two are the best sense of coverage I have in the pics I took.

North Cascades delivered yesterday. Hit the timing perfect and was rewarded with perfect corn on the descent.

Snow in the PNW 20-21: We may have Corona but Corona doesn't have us!

Mini-“rant” here. I thought about starting a general thread but I think I’ll just mention it here to see where it goes.
Everybody here pretty much knows where I ski in the spring and I just want to say that only three years ago, if it was a Thursday and I went up to ski, maybe there’d be three or four cars, and I knew them. Now every single spot you can fit a car has a car in it.
So, for me it’s not a big deal, I know the area really well, I actually don’t mind seeing people in the back country because I’m usually alone and so frankly it feels good to know that somebody might find me. That said, maybe we should be a lot more quiet/coy about where we’re skiing. The pictures usually tell all you need to know.
PMs for specific info may be better.

I do ski in a beautiful area.
Everything has been A LOT busier midweek this year. New normal. Probably shouldn't expect minimal crowds at a well known zone with prime conditions and weather located directly off a highway in plain view during a year where most powder techs have been working remotely.

Hopefully next year midweek calms down everywhere.

It's corn skiing, not pow. How are other people diminishing your experience? Parking too far from the mall entrance for your liking?

    What club?

Anyway, there’s no mall anywhere near me.
I thought I was stating my point clearly, that I don’t really mind it that much that it’s getting more crowded and I agree this is the new normal. (Although it is kind of funny how every year it gets more crowded and that becomes the new normal.)
This year it’s taken a big leap, and that’s kinda my point.

WA population has been increasing at about 1.5% a year. So every year, the parking spots should appear at least 1.5% more full. I say at least because the type of people moving to WA are the type to ski WA Pass. It's a 3 hour drive from Seattle (if you drive like a typical, young, bc skier). You have to live at least 6 hours away before you can start being shocked at the crowds.
