So what’s the consensus? Who’s got a pass?
Any back room knowledge about smaller hills like Hoodoo opening?
Bachelor is pushing passes hard, with lots of guarantees.
Predictions?

prediction: if I visit, it will snow a lot. Unfortunately I cannot predict if they will be open
"Not all who wander are lost"
Visit anyway; we’ll find fun.
If it snows Hoodoo will open. That is all.
imho, an overly ambitious season opener...
i have a ticket tho, as does my boy, so posting up...
Whaddup
Taken a few days ago. Not quite Oregon.
Overly optimistic is putting it mildly.
Skiing will happen in OR this season, BUT standing around in liftlines seems like a really shitty way of socially distancing. Business as usual seems unlikely, IMO. Reservations? Daily caps? Who knows?
If you were hoping to get a normal amount of ski days this season, I would plan on spending some days earning your turns. I doubt that the forest service closes access sites again this year unless shit gets truly out of hand.
The Mountain Shop is doing season rentals on AT gear for those that may want to have a set on hand for days when you may miss out on quota skiing

I bought a MtB pass, with all the guarantees
What jonesy said about The ‘Doo
Skiing seems a long way off with mid-90s temps and choking on wildfire smoke...
Bought a Sahale pass thinking it would be a good deal over 5 years. That's either going to be a really good deal if we get special benefits or it was really bad timing. Will know in a couple of months.
Exactly what the easy access touring spots need is every #vanlife bro in Portland and their “new to skiing but all about hiking for turns” girlfriend getting out there!
Sorry for the shitty attitude but I’m obviously worried about this, probably not for a valid reason.
Back to optimism: I’m gonna need friends to help out with those sled laps this season! Any and all mags are welcome
I suspect it will be busy everywhere this year: resort & bc
resorts will be on reservation/quota & bc will be overrun with the frustrated
(...tho they may drop off once they realize what they are getting in to...tiring sweaty walks for short, low-slope quarry)
checking in with my southerly brethren
I have been BC skiing on hood for many years and I have never been crowded out of a spot or had a truly shitty experience with a BC user that I can recall, whether JONG or crusty old timer. I am curious if others have had shitty or dangerous situations in the BC around Hood?
Though my sample may be biased, since I usually aim for solitude over turns or low-hanging fruit.
An uptick in JONGs with new BC gear means lots of very lightly used gear flooding your local craigslist in the next season or two, because earning your turns is a pain in the ass.
^^ you are correct. All is good. Just need pow... experiencing withdrawal symptoms this week
how about speakerpods and lots of shit strapped to backpacks
New thread without photographic proof of skinning on fresh (per tradition) is bad juju! [emoji12]
As others have said- skiing will go down on Hoodoo, snow or no snow!

Sorry about the attitude... I screwed up and read the news again! (Got to stop that if I want to be an optimist)
God damn, you guys need to get your skis on snow. You could be skiing right now if you get creative or simply drive your asses to TLine.
It is going to snow. It is going to be incredibly deep. You will have ghost-town storm days and perfect spring corn.
This thread is for Oregon optimists, dontcha know?
