Dude. As someone that has sold cars on BAT and as someone that has bid and lost every single vehicle I've bid on, I feel your pain. The worst one for me I lost a super clean square body suburban by $500............I keep telling myself if I would have bid it the other guy would have bid higher and I still wouldn't have gotten it. I always set my price limit before I start bidding, if I don't I know I will justify doing something really stupid.

Here's one for you, in your color, maybe the price is good enough to justify.

If it's any consolation, from the bidding pattern I think cvugteveen would've gone over your 10k limit anyway. Still sucks though.

This just will make it that much sweeter when you do finally find the chosen one.

I had a feeling as well. When I was speaking with the dealer he kept calling me a different name when I picked up and said he'd been working with another bidder and sorry for the confusion.

Super clean examples in the last 2 years have been going for just under $10k with a couple real rare birds that went in the mid to high teens so who knows where it would have gone had it been a domestic car. It sucked watching bids and adding the import+shipping costs on top of each increasing bid.

Eh, you'll just be one year older when you do get it.

    My thoughts exactly.

And we'll need to dig up Warren to make a film about it when I do.

    Fuck.
Too early to suggest calling that toilet the Assfinder?

Bummer, I checked the post and hoped you were one of the bidders as it got close to the end.

Nice, thank you. That one hit my inbox this morning.

Someone will be happy with that one. Just the wrong side of the model year and trim for me but it’s well kept for sure.

For a $2000 retainer I'll go find you one that's not currently for sale, and offer the owner cash.
Start from $3-5k and let them raise if needed.
I could get you a toe if desired, as an option.

'95 Pathfinder, Reno NV, looks pretty clean other than a dent. Cheap.

Bmills. Quit teasing and buy something.

Hell I’d buy that bat gem if I didn’t know how shitty a pathfinder is. Reminds me of my Land Cruiser similar vintage. Thin Japanese steel that rusts out and falls apart.

Let it go. Or grab the brass ring of nostalgia

Reminds me of boomers and muscle cars. They sucked. Great hp. Horrible handling. But a bench seat where you could get cozy was nice.

But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

I thought about just buying it and seeing if Bmills wanted it, and if not, new farm vehicle. Worst case out a few bucks and or have something to beat around town in, best case, Bmills flies out here, epic TR to follow.

Much love to Art, Chup and Easyrdr for sharing these whips!

Chup, I had high hopes for that one but the listing was gone before the seller even sent a response.

The BaT example(s) are incredible and should go >$10K. Unfortunately being XE’s I’m not worried about missing out on them.

Art, as most of these unicorns tend to be in the PNW, I have high hopes that we’ll make that TR happen. The XE on your island is great by all accounts and would be an excellent candidate (1 owner! Come on!) if I wasn’t committed to an SE and one that doesn’t have the red interior (I’ve actually priced out an interior refresh at my guy’s shop here and unfortunately to swap out the red bits for anything else would rapidly approach the purchase price of a 30 year old Assfinder.

It’s both bourbon and bonus season fellas so my itch is strong as ever. Please and thank you for keeping the submissions coming. It helps me stay away from looking at Land Cruiser threads if anything else which would REALLY blow my budget.

Maybe not… I’m selling my 100 series and I think you’ve got relatives up here? I love to see it go to a Mag. Well under $10K and I can store as long as you’d need.

Even has extra studded snows on wheels and a platform in the back to camp your way home.

You got it man. I’m assuming you have some very specific specs in mind so if I see something I’ll throw it out there knowing it may not fit.

The inertia of this thread cracks me up. Poor Bmills probably mentioned his affinity in passing 10 years ago and now he has an army of snow-brained wastoids lobbing every assfinder in the nation his way until he eventually relents and buys a rig thats just going to lead to monthly eye rolls from the spouse and frequent trips to the local wrencher.

Yep, that sums it up well. Had a '62 Scout my wife didn't care for, did an LS swap on it and that made her like it even less. So I sold it and bought a nice sort of running FJ40 that has been sitting for 2 years because I don't have time to fix it. Wife likes it better than the driving Scout I sold but the eye roll thing is very real and consistent whenever the FJ comes up in conversation.
