Anyone know the exact differences between the older RS 140 and the newer WCR 140S?

I have tried on both, but forgot some details of the older RS 140 fit. All I can remember is the toe box on the older one felt smaller. If I can recall correctly, the fit isn't dramatically different.

Impressive! Did you apply a lot of heat, or are you blessed with petite feet?

All we really did was a 6th toe punch on the shell. I have skinny ankles and heels with an average instep/forefoot. The freerides did come out of my previous boots so the packing from using them for 2 1/2 seasons probably really helped with getting them in. Getting the throat to close was the hardest but that just took a couple trips to the oven and cranking the shit out of the instep buckles.

Chapeau! My insteps are kinda high for my own WCRs, but the new Corsas(removable tongue version) slid right in. Did some shell heating to conform the liners a bit,but it worked out nicely. The older corsas are much higher volume, and stuck out in the bear trap all the time last season in Dobies.

I also stole the buckles from my rossi plugs and put them on the WCRs, at least on the clogs, so I won't have to deal with the most annoying closure system of all time. And they look better for it.

Nice! I am coming out of the Hawx Ultra (set at 15 degrees) and was looking for better dampening/suspension as well a tighter heel pocket. I think this should provide both of those as I can already tell the fit is much more precise.

Also, apparently, the white plastic, lacking dye, will turn into sort of a piss flavored color. [emoji16]

If they drive half as nice as the less than great fitting dobies, I'll be stoked. They do feel the part.

That's a great selling point on the 120 vs the 140 I never knew about, right alongside sane person buckles. My rubber soles came at the cost of a lug grind in addition to the soles.

How much did you have to pay for the strap?

I think it was $80?? I bought the soles at the same time from my fitter.

Side note I got the boots on Amazon for $225. My boot fitter owed me one on a failed speedmachine that I told him I’d eat the cost on. So we got a fitting for these out of it.

Darn. I'm a Zoolander fan and I didn't pick up on it. Missed opportunity to say "Le Tigre's a lot softer, it's a little bit more of a catalog boot"

Noticeably more voluminous than my Firebird 140s, as well as Doberman 5s and the new RS 140s. But obviously not as much overall volume as the 97-98mm last boots. This is a nice middle ground for me, it truly does feel like the most *anatomically average* race fit. I wanna get my ZBs modded to feel like this.

Raptors also feel stiffer than all these boots (besides ZB) by a large margin at room temp, and that’s without the last bolt put in.

Huge toebox which I like. Great hold still from true 96mm last (100mm in my size), and fairly low instep. I think these newer Raptors may have slightly lower heel/ankle/instep volume and slightly more toebox volume compared to the older Raptors.

For myself I’m going to try out the liquid fit wax as the liners break in, but I’m also planning on adding some aftermarket liners down the line.

Nice! I really wanted the blacks, but none available in Norway. There's a cool thread on skitalk on how to dye white boots, btw.

The 2024 models, either the white or black main, with the light blue hints look really nice and high end. I actually prefer the white in 2024 models.

For 2024, the Black ones are now Raptor 130s now and only have the 130 and 140 bolt. So they are actually different from the white ones now.

Mine are 2023s with the 130, 140, and 150 bolts.

I believe those with three bolts are 22 models, as my 23s are 140-150 only- room for only one extra spine bolt. [emoji846]
