Dang, that's alarming because my son is surfing just about every day from there to Bangor.
I was just swimming while visiting him at Popham Beach. He took me farther than I've ever been off the beach before. When I asked him about Sharks his friends said " they don't come up this far"; yikes!

    Trip/attack report forthcoming. Stay tuned!
Trip/attack report live from the scene with unsolicited neurotic advice as an added bonus:

"a kayaker came out to rescue her but she was dead by the time they reached shore. It happened a couple of hundred yards from our condo. The lady was swimming out to a buoy and back. They say it may have been a great white shark because it tossed the lady forcibly in the air.
I will never, never, never go swimming in an ocean again. You and your family shouldn't either.
They think the sharks are heading further north possibly because of global warming."

I was swimming off of Marco Island FL when a fin went by. Cool, I thought, a dolphin so I started chasing it. Fortunately a bull shark swims faster than I do. (Your grandmother swims faster than I do.)

The local weather guy said that water temps off Jersey just broke 80. That's ridiculous.

Did they stop doing Shark Week? I didn’t see the usual hype for it this year.

Michael Phelps vs a great white was the nadir and it's never really recovered from that.

I'd be down for a Tara Reid, Ian Ziering hosted reboot of Shark Week.

They can race whatever they want.

You go to ASU to party. You major in marine biology to go to the beach. (U of A is associated with CEDO, based in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico, which studies the Sea of Cortez. I'm sure ASU runs similar programs.)

No doubt the shark is just as pissed about out of state tourists as we are and decided to do something about it.

That thread reads exactly like the town hall meeting where Quint offers up his services.

A lifetime ago before I found this place we used to torment the crusty old fucks on the Lake Cumberland and Norris Lake forums before spreading out to oceangoing mediums like SA. Let’s just say that not everyone is Padded Room material.
