From my steelheading days I knew there was only one place way up the Skagit with an opening like that to Baker in the right direction.. it's high bank and a pia..



There's a 'permanent' rock/sand bar out in this big bend.. and the water behind it can run nice and smooth.. so that's the Skagit..

Got skunked the last few nights with clouds and/or rain. Has anyone been able to see it the last night or so? I'm guessing the window has closed, esp with the moon and it's trajectory away from earth, but maybe somebody somewhere got lucky.
