Solid work here, Boosh. First round at the next class reunion is on me.
I’ll be honest, first time seeing “Ontario Plains”. I like it.
Anybody who takes a stance in this discussion on a Central, NY line I respect. For me, central NY is anything east of the NYS fairgrounds exit on I90.
The 104 corridor deserves special attention when it comes to dividing up western NY. Blue tarp central. For the high rollers, ZIP system as the primary siding (think Tyvek but for the upper-middle class). I also think 104 also has the highest # of DWIs in the state. Purely anecdotal, though.

I'll be there Friday
I thought that was David Letterman caddying.
Because rich has nothing to do with money.
That tournament has hotel rooms at double or higher in the whole area. Between Brockport graduation last weekend and the tourney rooms were over $300 at the dumpy Section 8 motel and over $400 at the Hampton Inn.
CNY is mostly bounded by I88 almost down to Binghamton then NW to about Geneva, north to 104, NE to Oswego, E through Rome to Utica then S back to 88. The Fingerlakes have to be their own zone for a bunch of reasons and that runs to somewhere around a N/S line going through Mendon/Bloomfield. The Ontario Plains idea is good but doesn't have a real distinction (yet) and the Northern Pennsyltucky designaton is appropriate and could be probably use the Susquehana and Delaware Rivers to define them.
Yeah once that far west 17/86 will do although there are intense NP pockets north of the road, but it also properly moves it east to where it belongsBinghamton isn't the border of the Southern Tier or NP. I mean, Port Jervis is kind of like an end point, right?
Have I told y'all how much I dislike NYC anymore recently? I have the hardest time seeing how I enjoyed spending 5 days a week there for 10 1/2 years. Meeting Spanky, going out to lunch with Benny multiple times were memorable high points and a hardcore drinking session at a rooftop bar with Aldo and Plakespeare were awesome but now I find it hard to appreciate a few hours there. What a shithole...
agreed.
Anyone have beta to share about Niagra Falls? I'll be there for work the last week of May.
Looking for good food. Good mountain bike trails to ride in the evenings.
I have a passport and can cross the border. Limited time though as I'll be working until n at least 1600 each day.

No matter where you go, there you are. - BB
You want the tourist report of stuff they do? Maid of the Mist boat ride, the Guinness World Record Museum, Some hiking in and around the State Parks - Whirlpool State Park along the Rim Trail, go to Goat Island on the US side, an Aquarium, and of course the Casinos if you are into that for a bit.
Restaurants can't comment as it has been a bit since I've been there and spent some time- obviously pre-pandemic. Ate at the US side Hard Rock Cafe, Canada side the Skylon Tower and revolving restaurant on the Canadian side has been a staple forever.
They all suck. Nasty coffee and the "food" is if dubious nutritional value. However, if you are going to visit one, the best one is right by the falls on the Canadian side. At least it's got a stunning view. It was a brutally hot day and therefore thing#1 and I got iced coffees.
My wife is from Watertown and loves it, but you aren't missing anything IMO.

Jreck certainly fits the zone. I can't decide if I like it or what. I'll have to stop at one next week and see if eating there helps change my impression of the region. Good Ol' Wishy's in Croghan was a headstart to appreciating it.
The food sucks. Straight up. Do not get the “tuna“.
fact.
