If there was a heat map of Upstatedness with snow by Labor Day, I'm guessing Fulton, Oswego, and somewhere south of Buffalo would be purple.

Over 4k feet has a chance, bring it down a hundred or so feet a week through the end of October and then all bets are off.
It's Upstate NY, not the Rockies. Snow in September...lol. Buffalo's first measurable snowdate is something like November 6!
It's chicken BBQ, Labatt + Walleye fry, and Spiedie season - git sum.
You guys know we're joking? Sorta.
"A trace of snow fell in Buffalo and Rochester on September 20, 1956. The earliest first inch of snow fell in Buffalo on October 10, 1906, but in Rochester, it fell on October 11, 1906."

I've lived all over and generally I'd expect first snow in the high country approximately 9/17 and in the higher valleys by 10/5. I don't expect anything before T-giving outside the mtns but even down here (1 mile south of Rt 6) I've had a foot or more twice in October in the last 25 years.

I think daydrinking is what makes this thread go round on slow days.

Hey, you got the Tracker back in action? Nice!
And what in the Sam Hell is Busch Light Peach?!?

Hey m27, I've been thinking I want one of those Samurai/Sidekick/Tracker things. How hard are they to find parts for now, how reliable (other than the blown motor) has it been and what kind of mpg do you get?
I figured the man from Atlanta would know the answer to that question.
the crossboarder tracker engine shenanigans are detailed in post #10959

they’re wicked reliable. I’ve beat the fucking shit out of four of them now. They go and go and go. Unfortunately, getting parts for them can be a real pain in the ass now. They used to be all over the junkyards and I can pick shit up cheap and easy. But most of the chassis have been pulled and sent to the metal scrap people. You can still find whole engines and hole transmissions. That folks have pulled and put on the shelf. But it’s harder to find smaller things like trim parts to hold the top down and controls for the heat/ac system. They’ve also all of a sudden got extremely popular. I think it has something to do with the popularity of side-by-side’s right now. So the prices of used ones can be ridiculously high even for ones in shit shape.
The blown motor was a junkyard replacement motor in the first place. The first motor went to about 210,000 before I blew the fuck out of it for wheeling. I picked up the second motor with about 100,000 on it and then put another 200,000 on it after I put it in and before it blew the fuck up.
So, if you’re not beating the fuck out of the thing, it’ll last you a good long time.
On the other hand, if you’re not beat the fuck out of the thing, you’re not getting the maximum enjoyment out of it either.
The mileage really varies depending on how you drive. It is just a square fucking box after all. And at 80 miles an hour you’ll be looking at about 23 to 24 miles per gallon. Drop the speed back down to 55 and cut out them, jack rabbit starts, and you can get that mole per gallon up to 33. So, quite the range.
Why can't we have nice things anymore???
Any boomers rolling in over northern upstates, Franklin, Clinton counties? I'm hearing rumbling in the distance over here in Franklin County, VT.
Can one of you fact check this to confirm it did indeed happen in upstate? I don’t have a subscription, so not sure the location.
