The amount of bad beta in this thread is amazing, but for Brownski’s TR.
-Roscoe: fantastic fly fishing for decades.
-Southern Tier has excellent beer.
-Orange lacrosse is more important than basketball.
-If you have seen what clears the trees at Magic, you’d be shocked to learn that that aren’t goats.
-EC telemark skiers know that Nana Sandy makes the best mustard.
-No one but metro assholes call it “Upstate” ‘cept when referring to the band.
Is it a large knife that clears the trails at Magic? I kinda feel like it might be a large knife.
Timberridge says they have a big drill there so I’m pretty confident they have a large knife too.
I still call it The Jake.
To add to the upstate thread, Bob Goldthwaite and Tom Kenny (voice of sponge bob) bagged my groceries at price chopper
The great Jonathan Winters got his start doing beer commercials in upstate New York also.
We've been over this man. 81, but it gets a little fuzzy north of Syracuse.
That is an oft asked question in the Capital District...which is a subsection of Upstate. Word from my barber, whose partner cuts Price Chopper owner Neil Golubs hair, is that Wegmans and Golubs have an "agreement" that Wegmans wont encroach further east and Price Chopper will not move further west. Could in fact be such a gentleman's agreement as they are both family owned chains, but it won't be in writing.

Wegmans is here, they opened one in Westchester recently. That means this is upstate right?
Good morning sunshine!
I just followed someone over from the wegmans chat group you guys seem like a keen bunch!

Hey, I responded in PM. It was a pun on the proud boys and benny's constant comments about Israel's intervention in foreign policy, Chasids spreading covid, etc. Didn't mean to offend anyone, sorry. Enjoy the sabbath buddy. Looks like a real nice day out there in upstate.

He's just trolling ya pal.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
I tried to respond, but it wouldn't allow me to. But it's not a 'private' matter, and certainly subject to open discussion. I'm not familiar with the history of the person to whom you were making the comment, and the background you've shared provides some context. Even so, it's best to steer completely clear of hate speech. Using the word 'g*y', regardless of the context, is no less offensive than the scores of disgusting pejoratives hurled at adherents of religions like Judaism and Islam.
Pretty touchy imo. Harden up if context has no meaning in your world. Try Alpinezone?
I was raised outside of Awlbany where the eyetalian and polak immigrants were allowed to move to when they worked their way into owning a piece of land so they wouldn't go hungry. Upstate.

Yup
I grew up in Monsey (apropos to the upstate debate) so understanding Yiddish is not a problem for me at all. I certainly know what g*y means, and can clearly see how it was used. As a pejorative. It's no different than the many times I have been called a 'cheap j*w' thru the course of my life.
It's also 'interesting' when you see a moderator of the forums lead the way on normalizing hate speech. Very Trumpian.
Could it be you are cheap and a Jew? I know some Polaks who are pretty dumb.
Ayyyyy. I take offense. My grandmother was Polish.
I think we can all just find common ground here and trash the Mormons. Ha, and full circle again, the Mormons were birthed in the Upstate!
I'm half Polak, half Spic, raised Catholic, with Sephardic Jewish ancestry on my mom's side. Who needs a joke cracked on an ethnically touchy subject? I have ya covered.
