    Patagucci g2 short alternatives

I often live in water shorts in the summer. I like that the g2 shorts have pockets. My board shorts all have 1 side pocket, which is not enough, ime. I have a pair of older Oakley board shorts (one pocket) that dry super fast, which was rad. My old g2 shorts did not dry very well. I’ve read that the current g2 shorts are not as good as the older ones because of stretch panels. I’m not finding very many choices near me. Suggestions?

I think you are describing "hybrid" boardshorts. They're basically casual shorts made out of material similar to that of board shorts.

I have a couple pairs similar to this:

The quicksilver website has a whole category of hybrid board shorts. I know volcom and other similar brands also make these. I have no idea if the popular outdoor apparel brands like OR/Arcteryx make something similar.

Thanks! “Hybrid:” that’s the term I was looking for.

Got a pair of Da Hui hybrid board shorts with pockets, and like that my $$ goes to support aggressive surf localism and access kapus.

I've got a pair of NRS guide shorts that I like. They've got regular pockets plus two smaller zip pockets. Definitely not board shorts, though:

These look interesting. What's your experience with the sizing? True to size, sort of the standard a little bit bigger than stated, or as more and more US companies have moved to, much larger than actual size.

They seem true to size based on what I expect nowadays, which probably means larger than actual size.

How about patagucci baggies or baggies lite, or river shorts? I haven't bought either in awhile, but assume they are still available. , once they open up again.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Patagonia themselves have a line of “hybrid” board shorts - they work well for traveling and everyday summer casual wear

Save your ducats and get some EB First Ascent Guide shorts. Live in them all summer. Stretchy tough material, dry fast and have regular pockets, two Velcro hip pockets and two smaller thigh pockets with zippers.

    Cut off jeans. Go commando.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
