Cooking System for Overnight Floats

Kids are finally old enough for us to start doing some family overnight floats, does anyone have a recommendation on a good cooking system? All I have is an older MSR Single burner so that probably won’t suffice for a family of 5, looking at something like the below. Not overly concerned about space as we’ll be in 2 boats but want to keep it reasonable.

save yourself some $ and get one of these ? we use it on our boat.
get the attachment and use a 5 or 11 # propane tank instead of the endless green bottles.

Family overnighters are the best!!

We use the above Coleman too. However, most of the folks we float with have those posh partner steel set-ups, so we hardly ever end up bringing our stove. They’re pretty nice, especially for big pots and group kitchen cooking (although easy to burn your fingers on the recessed knobs when they’re hot).

I pulled the dual fuel version of that Coleman out of my parents basement when I was 17 and leaving on a road trip. It was from '67 and barely used at the time. Minus replacing a few seals a couple of years ago for a few bucks, thing fires up every time.

Wouldn't want to cook for more than 4 on it though.

Thanks all...those Partner stoves are slick but not sure I need to drop $500 in one. The Camp Chef or Coleman appear the way to go, I’ve got a 3 burner camp chef similar to what Swimmy posted but it’s a little big for the boat.

the coleman green suitcase is pretty hard to beat in propane or white gas the 2 burner is just right , I had a 3 burner and it was just a little too big

Get one of those 1.5-2 gallon LP tanks. About $45 but worth it not to lug green bottles

Went with the Coleman, worked great and fit easily in the rower’s seat compartment.

For any midwesterner maggots, a multi-day Upper Manistee float is definitely worth it.

I like cooking over a fire.

bring a little grill for steaks and such, could even go cast iron if you wanna be really fancy, but those pie pan things, foil packets, hotdogs on sticks are all pretty awesome.

I also usually bring a jet boil for hot water.

When I was guiding we'd bring a little shitty propane bbq for lunches. Nice for a quick stop, not great for a big meal (build a fucking fire yo)
