So I’ve got s couple new pairs of FR15s, new spacing should be 3mm, but using the markings.

So weirdly one of my pairs sets up at 4mm when using the markings, all the others at 3mm with the markings and checking with an allen key.

Is my one pair a early model destined for NZ or something before they changed to 3mm? Super confused on this one.

    Official ATK Binding Thread

I believe four mm is correct per ATK’s published materials. I never received the spacer in the box, but the toe shim is four mm so that worked at least for a plywood test mount

Another question as I wait for atk tech support: does the older front brake fr 14 have the same mounting pattern as the newer bindings?

if there’s no spacer in your box look for a line etched on the heel pins

If you mean the silver Philips head screw at the back of the heel base plate then that's the heel length adjustment screw not the lateral din.

anyone really like the old style push button brakes? My shop has a set of Elan branded C-Raider 12 with 108 brakes I can give a good deal on.

Does anyone know how your supposed to attach the ATK leash to the “speed toe” ?
I bought a pair of the new Haute Routes. They come with the same leash the old ones had, including the little puck to attach it, and instructions showing the old toe lever.

Yet, the new lockout lever doesn’t fit the puck, and the fixed biner prevents girth hitching it.

Is there a mounting template somewhere for the toe mounting plates like the R013 and the other one?

I'll post more in the shift thread, but for those that don't mind taking a hacksaw to shit, you can get a better binding at the around the same weight.
Did you ever get around to putting up pictures of this ATK Hy killer?

You can girth hitch it through the toe hole. I usually girth hitch it to a small piece of cord girth hitched to the hole though, as a fuse.

"The Hy is compatible with most alpine skiing, ski mountaineering, and freeride boots. " - so I can use my Scarpa F1 with the HY FREE? That would make the HY the only hybrid binding on the market accepting non MNC boots?!

A friend night the atk 13 raider evo, mounted it with great care, added the spacers.

He had come out of the binding a number of times on groomers. Front and rear set at 13.

    Anyone had this problem?

Did they set all three RV screw? I see people forget the vertical release all the time (its a P2 under the heel risers). Is the Freeride spacer setup to tight to their boot? Toe/Heel alignment perfect? The raider is an excellent binding, but the setup is extremely finicky.

What is the consensus on the freeride spacer(AL13) gap size?

This, I bet vertical release is not set. Carpet testing should make this obvious, a good exercise in any touring boot imo. Give one some proprioception oh release characteristics.

    Official ATK Binding Thread

I will say whoever chose the various fonts for both the install guide and the on-binding markings wasn’t an old guy — the lettering is fucking small
I can only guess some Italian engineer who can see infinitely small things on cad/cam decided it weighs less?

He has the vertical release set at 8.

Even so, 8 is not that low, i didn't think he would come out. And he came out vertically, his toe was still in.

I’ve only come out of the heel vertically one time and concluded that it was probably user error. I think I must have had a ball of snow built up in the corner between the brake and the heel tower that was small enough to let me step in and feel nearly normal but big enough to prevent full pin seating in the heel. I lifted the heel on my first turn in some heavy “pow”, laid down on my hip and watched my ski head for the bottom of the hill.

Release values on touring bindings are not the same as alpine, only a superficial relationship at best.
