Would the general consensus be that the Freeride spacer is more beneficial for power transmission on a ski that will see more variable or harder snow?
I’ve got some powder planks that I only plan to tour on during the best powder days. Wondering if there’s no discernible performance boost with a Freeride spacer when it’s bottomless conditions.

well, a wider ski would usually make the extra support / power transfer more beneficial - but as you say, chances are that you won't notice too big a difference if you will only ski them in bottomless - especially if the snow is dry (less so in wetter / denser snow).
I would install a pair regardless. They weigh 29grams, so the potential upside of better power transfer when you need it and less strain on the heel tower is larger than the negative of the weight penalty and added complexity in my book.
Does the heel need to be remounted to install the freeride spacers to EVO 13s?
A couple questions here. I apologize in advance for not scouring the 231 pages in this thread to find all the answers to my questions, but I thought someone following along might know and save me a great deal of time. I've thrown some inserts into some skis that were mounted for the front brake Raider 12s. I found a pair of Front brake Raider 12s in my area that I'm going to pick up shortly, but they have brakes far too narrow for the skis I intend to put them on (86mm or 91mm vs the 120mm I need).
1) Can I simply pull the brakes and ride them with leashes or do I need brake seat covers like the later Raiders would use?
2) Would I need some sort of brake seat cover for the toes like the later Raiders use if I went brakeless?
3) Are freeride spacers compatible with the front brake Raider?
4) Lastly, does anyone have a pair of 120mm front brakes laying around that I could buy as I can't find a set online in stock?
PS if anyone needs some narrow front brakes, I may have a set for you shortly.

Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow you may be in Utah...
They come off with two or three small Allen wrenches. They don’t require a brake cover. You would need the older style spacer
I was checking out the Freeraider 14/16 vs. the new FR15 evo. It looks like they abandoned the lockable brake (actuated by the side button) in favor of the traditional spin 180 degrees to lock brake. I thought it was slick to not have to spin the tower to start hiking, were there issues with that design? (aside from the stoner move of forgetting to release the brakes on the down...)
No issues after 4 seasons and 4 pairs.

I have a M06 jig, does it mount the current C-Raider toe with the trapezoid pattern?
Killer thanks.
Also anyone know what the pin heights are like on the newer AP heels vs original such as for the Crest?
To answer my own question they are similar height to the Evo heels.

Hi all,
Just picked up some Evo 11's from White Mountain Ski Co., to be mounted on Enforcer Unlimited 94. Decided on the 11's as I never went above 10 on my G3 IONs and not getting that crazy in the BC any more. Primarily chute/gully skiing in the White Mountains of NH, handful of resort earlyups, and a few mid-winter pow days. Occasional CO spring tours. I'm 5'10" 165 without gear.
Given my intentions and specs, just wanted to get some feedback on Evo 11 vs. 13. Curious if I may want to trade for the 13 (although I almost certainly wouldn't set a release value beyond 11). Please talk me out of my over-thinking and tell me the 11's will be just fine![]()
Yeah, the push button brake release is problematic. 1) It's kinda hard to reach the right ski button (it sits on the outside of the heel, and a bit tricky to reach). 2) Bigger issue is that it can pack in/up with snow, and just be hard to push in and release. I'm still usually able to do it with skis on, but it can be a process of clearing some snow, and then pushing the button while also pulling up some on the heel plate.
To that point on #2, are there any tricks to help with this? I'm on year 4ish on my FR14s and just muscle through with the brake button thing.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is with resort bindings you want to go well above your release value because higher release bindings use more robust materials, but the ATK bindings use the same materials in the different release versions of the same bindings

Lots of updates coming for 2025, new toepiece for the crest, kuluar moves to r01, raider SL models with the new toe, new “timepacer” which looks like a kuluar with brakes
