Thanks for the intel. Cruised the meadow on bikes to get beers at offset. Pray for snow!

I’ve moved on from Utah, so I have absolutely zero idea what conditions are like right now, but figured some of you might appreciate some beta that I’ve shared here before:
Fire Break Road and the adjacent trails from Bountiful to Farmington are often totally good to go this time of year. The combo of gritty sandy soil and west aspect makes for a decent winter riding option. The trails themselves are nothing amazing, but there are some interesting technical sections sprinkled around the zone, including a handful of trails that aren’t on trailforks.
On the other hand, DO NOT venture over to the Tunnel Springs/Lost Lad area this time of year unless things are for sure frozen. Peanut butter mud galore over there.
Is this thread still alive??
Anyone know the condition of drop kick, is it still rideable?

Thread revival maybe?
What's the move to ride lift served this season? Seems like everyone has half their shit closed for construction.
Solitude park was good last year and they are adding trails each year. Might be very busy this year with the deer valley closures though

The 8pm close times on Tuesdays and Thursdays are definitely nice for us with 9-5's. Season pass is a little expensive, but is there a better quality per dollar out there? Sundance, PCMR?

Also, just noticed you can add Deer Valley bike park access for an extra $100. That might be the way to go, even though only the lower half of DV is open.

To the person who stopped and checked on me when I went OTB on flying dog coming into Jeremy 2 weeks ago. Thanks. I owe you beer.
It’s dusty AF up there. Jenni’s reroute is a cluster, but not bad to navigate. Skidders keep popping up everywhere

Can't resist PCMR for the money and everything you can access from up there. Also love those skidders! Shit is super blown out already though hahaha.

I think the wind up there today might have cut the dust down to [emoji637]”[emoji38]Originally Posted by Phall;[emoji[emoji6[emoji640

I didn't think so but it was blowing trees down!

This wasn't there on the first lap. If you were grinding up this spot I think the tree would be on your head before you even knew what was happening. Pulled several trees off HC.

They shut down lifts at Solitude for awhile because of fallen trees across trails. What's HC - I'm tired and there are hundreds of trail names around here. If it's honeycomb and you are saying you did more than one lap - jeezuz
yep can confirm ...if your up in the pc area riding lifts be extra cautious today ....many new trees down and large sticks/debris in the trails....if your hitting any of the jump lines or skidders id recommend to visually clear the trail before dropping into any steep chutes or blind features ....yesterday we pulled multiple downed trees off the trails that fell between laps...spread the word.
Finally hit up Parrish Creek over the weekend. Pretty cool trail overall as it drops 3700+ feet from skyline dr down to centerville, and has great views of the great salt lake. The trail definitely could use some love and a haircut.
Probably spent more time shuttling than we did actually pedaling, which stinks, and I wouldn’t want to pedal up ward canyon as it was busy. Overall, I’m glad I checked it out but likely won’t be hitting it up again in the near future.

[QUOTE=Dantheman;Yeah, Marshal and I did a Honeycomb then pedaled back up and hit Silver Fork.[/QUOTE]
How does Silver Fork compare to Honeycomb? I haven’t done Silver Fork yet but have been looking at it for a while.
Also big mtn trail is mostly clear, just a few snow patches in the middle half of the trail to get around.
Overall, I would say if you can ride Beartrap and honeycomb top to bottom, you can ride silver fork. There are a couple tech moves up high that are more committing than anything on those other two trails, but notwildy so, imo. Also. Fair warning, there is a creek crossing in a lower meadow that is rather eroded. you will come out of an extended period of steep fast blasting and will want to start pedalling in the meadow. It is actually time to slow down to cross the stream safely. But if you like/love honeycomb, then silver is an essential addition to the repertoire, imo curious if the other usuals back there agree! Haha
Thanks for the info Marshal! I’ll have to give it a go finally!
I did honeycomb for the first time today- I mostly forgot what I read about it years ago excpet it was tech. I was solo and never knew what was coming - I was not expecting that long rock garden, ha, but loved the trail!
Nice! You think it has to be over soon but it just keeps going.
