saw it on facebook so it has to be true

This is hopefully for the best. Maybe they can "organize" things a little better. Here's hoping.

Wow, can’t believe it’s been going 24 years already. Remembering when it opened, it was quite the visionary effort by Aaron and Jen.

It will be interesting to see what changes and what stays the same. I selfishly hope for more unguided and/or an operating model that makes sense for me to buy a season pass every year. I do love the terrain.

Could go the other way where it just becomes a playground for the rich and famous skiers and no unguided because it is not profitable and a PITA. Time will tell eh?

I heard some rumblings about this and pretty sure they want to provide the luxury heli skiing experience with the chairlift being the backup on storm days. The money is in booking heli packages with lodging and obviously not single day lift tix.

I've loved it. Been there every year for at least 2 weeks for 21 years now.
    Best team in the business.

The spring pass has been the best deal in skiing for some time. Kudos to the Brills for keeping it crazy and real.

That wouldn't surprise me. Wouldn't be the first place ruined by greed and money.

This is obviously the talk of town this morning. Rumors have been flying for years about a sale so this is not much a surprise for the locals. It will be interesting to see how things go. The current team is being kept in full, which is a good initial sign. The thing that makes Silverton special is the terrain, but the team behind it is a close second. Nothing but love for the folks who make Silverton mountain happen, from the top all the way down.

Hey, are you going to be able to ski by March?

Part of the team is not returning though.

Oof. Good for Brills - I know they can be a bit polarizing, but I dug em and full kudos on pulling this whole thing off. Looks like they're keeping the AK operation.
Who the hell is Heli? Looks like they do everything from breath work to ziplining to safaris... not encouraging at first glance. But at least its not Vail?

I wouldn't mid if they just bumped up the price for unguided, maintain the limit on skier numbers and made guides optional (and for an added fee) throughout the main season. It sure would be nice to be able to bounce around that place in February with small crowds and no guide.

I could write a lengthy post about what I think Silverton 2.0 should look like, but it's not my money.
A little polish would go a long way. Actual bathrooms, running water, couches that are cleaned more than once a decade, etc.
