Backland cuff pivot replacement... what would it do?

I have a pair of Backland Carbon boots that I've used for 2 seasons now. The hardware is mostly fine, there are some tears in the gaiters and some buckles have fallen off, but the boots are still going. The one thing that's getting janky is the play in the cuff. I've tightened up the pivot hardware, but that hasn't seemed to do anything. From what I've read on here and other places, re-pressing rivets was the old way to fix this kind of issue. It seems to me like the cuff or lower plastic has ovalized, leading to the play. Looking for input on whether I should
    1. Buy new pivots and replace, hoping this will fix
    2. Cram some sort of plastic into the ovalized gaps, someone suggested zip tie bits, and reinstall the pivots I've got
    3. Keep skiing these until something else breaks

As a ski boot cuff gets sloppier and sloppier, does it ever break?
I've got this issue on all of my touring boots, Neo, Mercury, and Backland, but I don't really notice it while skiing or touring. I'm more concerned about something breaking on me in the field.

    Cheers

Well you cant repress rivets since the cuff pivot is threaded hardware not rivets. But it could be the bushings that are worn out. Not sure if Atomic or Skimo sell those. Worse case try to get some custom delrin bushings lathed.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

I took them apart more thoroughly last night, and it seems like the plastic of the shell has not ovalized after all. The play I'm getting is coming from the bushings themselves. The white plastic isn't fitting tight any more, so I'm going to try replacement. You can't order them online any more. I'm going to take them to Evo, where I bought the boot, and ask them to get the part.

If you don't find the parts at a local shop, you could try calling Atomic directly too. If that doesn't work try and make friends with someone who has a lathe - shouldn't be too hard if you supply the delrin. If that fails just ski them until they die, then send the extra parts to me for my spare boneyard of backland parts

Ya emailed Atomic and they said go to a shop. It should work out!
When they die I'll put up the part boot

Bumping this cuz I can't find a master thread. On the 16/17 vintage of these (black with orange tongues) is it possible to adjust forward lean? I seem to recall reading this, but I can't figure out how. And I feel the forward lean is a bit much.

I believe the two bolts that hold on walk mode lever can be undone and the metal “washer” flipped. But that’s just off the top of my head remembering...

Yes that's the procedure. If IRC the standard is 15*, flipping gives you 13*. MW what made you switch from the Fischer?

I'm still using the Fischers mostly, but I got these in trade from a mag here and am trying to see if I can get a beefier but comfortable/tourable setup to drive my Wootests... they tour ok, if I can reduce the forward lean somewhat I might use them for heavier skis (Woos and ideally some Black Crows Solis...)

Btw these allen screws are a weird in-between size; anyone know what size allen key I need to manipulate them? I managed to get the strap screws (to add Booster straps) open by kinda mashing an allen key in there with a hammer but I'm hesitant to do this to the ski/walk mechanism...

Pretty sure they are Torx(Star) bits. T25,T20, T15, T10 are the common sizes.
